The animal, which has a zebra father and donkey mother, has black stripes prominently displayed on her legs and face. CW Wathen, the preserve's founder and general manager, said the foal has a zebra's instincts. Wathen said she sits up instead of lying on her side, as if she's staying alert for predators. Donkeys and zebras don't usually mate, but zedonks turn up occasionally. Wathen said that in about two weeks, the zedonk will begin roaming the property with the rest of the animals.

Report Abuse This Zedonk reminds me alittle of the Zebra the symbol for Carcinoid Cancer. In medical school, doctors are taught "when hearing hoofbeats, think horses, not zebras." Carcinoid Cancer & Neuroendocrine Tumors has been thought of as 'rare 'and therefore may be considered a zebra. My wife is a survivor of Carcinoid Syndrome, she had her right lung removed 3 years ago because of a tumor, but today she is cancer free and back to work full time.
