7/3 ARG 0 - 4 GER! That's a huge spread. What was wrong with Argentina?
\_ You give a damn about soccer? What's wrong with you?
\_ Giving a damn about the World Cup != giving a damn about soccer.
This has been an exciting, topsy-turvy tournament. Maradona must
be tearing his (incredibly absurdly dyed) hair out.

Oh no, the same disease that has plagued football here at home is now
        spreading to soccer abroad.
\- You may be too young to remember ROGER MILLA and the DANCE OF THE
CORNER. Did you see BISHOP D.TUTU dancing? That was pretty funny.

Chris Chase It's the greatest buzzer beater you'll see all year and it took place in the biggest game of the season in the former Yugoslavia's equivalent of the NBA. With eight seconds remaining in overtime of the NLB League championship and his team, Partizan, leading by one point, former Mississippi State star Lawrence Roberts missed two free throws. Their Croatian opponent, Cibona, grabbed the rebound and quickly moved the ball down the court. With 06 seconds left, Bojan Bogdanovich hit a 3-pointer, giving Cibona a two-point lead and setting off a raucous celebration by the home crowd, players and coaches. Here's the video, taken from the top with Roberts' missed free throws. Things get so nuts in the aftermath of Cibona's go-ahead shot that the Croatian TV broadcast doesn't capture Partizan's miracle buzzer beater because it was too busy showing Cibona's premature celebration. From the looks of things, nobody on Cibona thought it was necessary to play any defense after their team hit the go-ahead shot. Some of the players were celebrating with coaches and some were lackadaisically watching from beneath the other basket. None of them were within 10 feet of Kecman when he shot it. And my knowledge of the South Slavic languages isn't the strongest, but I'm pretty sure the announcers calling the game had just as little idea about what happened as the Cibona players and fans. Report Abuse the sequence of this game reminds me of the yr when LSU in college football was down with a few seconds left and the other team gatorade their coach only to see LSU hit a hail mary and the guy scored with no time left... Report Abuse The two events (the video and the one posted by dave) actually have a connection. Lawrence Roberts was a former Baylor basketball player (who transferred to Mississippi State after the Baylor hoops scandal). The coach of the Kentucky football team that soaked their coach then lost on a last-second LSU hail mary? Report Abuse Just shows you how basketball makes mentally challenged individuals all round the world. Just a lame sport and a sport that even a mentally challenged person can play. Report Abuse Must be a SLOWWWW day in american sports today. A phenomenal decrease in DUIs, Pistol Packing, Rapes, Team Bashing, Owner/Player-back stabbing, Significant/Meaningless trades, and Fan Rants. Report Abuse Thanks to the many passers by who helped me to pick up the bag of oranges which i dropped while shopping on Dewsbury High Street yesterday afternoon. I was unable to to thank them all fully at the time, but their generous help was much appreciated. At the final count i had recovered 5 of the 6 oranges which i had purchased.
