February 18th, 2010 at 5:34 am UTC Yeah, Michael, they probably should have looked at buying Daily Kos or Huffington Post, because they have the market cornered in warm fuzzy thoughts.
February 19th, 2010 at 7:43 pm UTC Sorry Jeff, but you undermined your own statement. You claim they represent stupidity and ignorance, but this proves that you are "ignorant" about what they represent.
February 18th, 2010 at 6:56 am UTC I'm pretty sure that one of the two bloggers for Hot Air is a an atheist/agnostic who often writes posts favorable of atheist rights. I wonder if this Christian company read the blog before buying it.
February 18th, 2010 at 7:06 am UTC I don't know anything about these two blog sites. But, I can tell you that Christians (who actually know what Christianity really is about) have nothing against atheist rights. In fact, Christians were the ones who limited government power over religion when they founded the USA I've been told, though, that in the higher ranks of Salem Communications, it's not really Christian focused -- they just target Christians. I could be wrong though, as this is based on the account of someone I barely knew who claimed to have worked for them at some point.
is *really about*" You're all cherry picking out of the same religious doctrine. Either way, conservative Christian organizations have definitely tried to blur the lines between church and state, and I doubt that Townhall is regularly publishing material favorable of Richard Dawkins or Hitchens.
While we should focus on being good-doers, salvation has nothing to do with our good works. We are saved by God's grace, through our faith in Christ (which is given to us as a gift from God). All Christian doctrine acknowledges this -- but some individuals don't understand it. Thus it has nothing to do with "cherry picking" as we are not refuting the main purpose.
monitor is really about viewing information/data from a computer or other output device. Yes, there are individuals and groups of individuals who misrepresent Christians (just like presidents who misrepresent their country). "Separation between church and state," by the way, isn't in the Constitution. The constitution does, however, say: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof."
In even simpler terms, that's like your mother telling you: "You can't make Little Billy support you, but Little Billy can't tell you what to do." There is nothing wrong (or unconstitutional) with religion interacting with the government. This first amendment is basically saying that the government must stay out of religion, but religion can access the government. The purpose of the amendment was to protect people from being persecuted by the government (or others) for what they believe in (or don't believe in). If anyone's blurring the lines between church and state, it's evolutionists and followers of "climate change". There is absolutely no real evidence for either, yet we're teaching it in schools as "fact" and we're being taxed (up the wazoo) for it.
February 18th, 2010 at 9:22 am UTC Wow this is really disturbing. Looking over this site it is nothing but negative style writing. I honestly feel uncomfortable when reading it as it reminds me of many things in life that hurt: Racism, Anti Pro-Choice, Pro-Christian, Anti-Gay, etc. To me, being American means allowing anyone to do what ever they want as long as it is not hurting others. Being Gay, Buddhist, Jewish, or having dark skin is not wrong or bad but forcing a particular "view" on someone is very wrong. You are not going to "burn in hell" for being Gay, Buddhist or Jewish. Although many conservative Christian organizations would talk to you until they are blue in the face about how the "Bible" says "the truth". Salem Communications is on a dark and dangerous path that consistently hurts people in the name of a religion. A simple analogy would be to follow the river flow, don't swim against the flow. If you stick your finger in a powered light socket you will get hurt. Salem Communications and like minded groups will someday feel the shock of the negative views they push and harm others with each and every day.
