perhaps the mountain of evidence against the guy, the confession
of his accomplice, and terrorizing our capital had something
to do about it.

Harrison shot Thompson in the head and shot Robinson in the mouth, witnesses said. A jury deadlocked on Harrison's sentence at his first trial, but a second jury voted for death after a retrial of the penalty phase. The state Supreme Court upheld Harrison's death sentence in 2005, ruling that a prosecutor's description of the defendant as a "disciple of Satan" was a reference to the brutality of the crimes rather than an improper appeal to religious authority. The Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation said Harrison, 53, who had been on Death Row at San Quentin State Prison, died Thursday of natural causes at an outside hospital.
