4/27 GOP purges itself of RINOs, gives Democrats filibuster proof majority: link:www.mercurynews.com/topstories/ci_12245273 \_ THis is not coming up for me. \_ Sorry, fixed. Mercury moves their stories, I should stop posting links to them. \_ Calling Specter a RINO is bullshit. \_ http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2239675/posts The Freepers would beg to differ with you. \_ And the dude who sleeps on the empty lot outside my window screams about how the government is watching him. Insane people are insane! Shocking! \_ It is too convenient to label your political opponents as "insane." The Freepers and their fellow travelers are running the GOP now. \_ That's just because there's a massive power vacuum. This will change, probably within 2-4 years. Until then it will be some seriously dark times for the GOP. \_ Dark times for America, too. I voted for Obama, but it is not good that there is no credible opposition right now. Too bad we don't have a Lib Dem party, like the Brits. \_ The Democrats are their own opposition. If you don't like what Congress is doing, write to Obama. If you don't like what Obama's doing, write Congress. \_ Those Freepers are awesome. You can smell the spittle from here. |

www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2239675/posts SouthernmostFreeper President Barack Obama talked to Sen. Arlen Specter at 10:32 this morning from the Oval Office, said Dems are "thrilled to have you," according to a White House aide. Arlen Specter's switch to the Democratic party when an aide passed a note during an economic briefing. View Replies To: SouthernmostFreeper The only question is: will he actually get his thirty pieces of silver? Will the Dems keep their promise not to contest him in the primary? View Replies To: SouthernmostFreeper I think that this pretty much confirms the idiocy and demise of the Republican party at the national level. Their refusal to consider the liberal political views of candidates when they decide who to support in a primary has come home to roost. View Replies To: SouthernmostFreeper Specter boosted Obama's ego even higher than it needs to be. Unfortunately, Obama's grand plans need to come down a little closer to earth, but that's not going to happen when he truly believes that a very strong majority of Americans support everything he does. View Replies To: softwarecreator "That's just another xxxx democrat that needs to be unseated at the next election. Toomey will have the luxury of avoiding having to go through a bloody primary -- now he can hone his message for the PA electorate, because Pennsylvanians will vote... View Replies To: sinanju "The only question is: will he actually get his thirty pieces of silver?" Don't know about that, because silver's kind of expensive these days, but I hear tell he'll get a nifty new squeaky toy and a shiny propeller hat. democrat that needs to be unseated at the next election. Bill Buckley supported the senatorial candidacy of a relatively unknown 'rat named Joe Lieberman. He dedicated a whole issue of "National Review" to the cause. View Replies To: SouthernmostFreeper Left where he belongs. Spector should have left the republicans a long time ago - he was so in bed with them. Bye-bye rhino - we can easily replace you with someone who has a clue what conservatives are really about! View Replies To: SouthernmostFreeper Let us not forget that Bush championed Specter in his last election. One needs to remind themselves about judging people by the company they keep. As much as Rumsfeld and Cheney look like practical, upright, upstanding Americans, they are in the Bush league working for a new world order. But I'm guessing that the RNC was seriously considering backing Toomey in the primary. Rick Santorum was asked about it this morning on the Bill Bennett show and he wouldn't say. View Replies To: SouthernmostFreeper As polarized as the parties are, how could anyone who actually belongs to one today join the other tomorrow? I could see going independent and maybe then the other side after a while but to make that kind of jump at once is obviously a selfish move just to try to stay in the Senate. View Replies To: SouthernmostFreeper The funny thing is, Specter is a dead man walking and will lose in the General no matter what letter is after his name. They'll use him for the next year or so and then oust him in a primary. View Replies To: klb99 Not many men I know use "thrilled" but then I think BO got that part of his anatomy from his mother's side... I don't think I'm the only one who thinks BO is a pu**y. the BOs just love being "cool", so many he just should have said... View Replies To: domenad "Toomey is coming for you, Specter." Up 20 or 30 points among a closed Republican primary electorate is one thing. Running against a Dem in an entire blue state of Republicans, Dems and Independents is another.
