In my experience, oral argument is often a waste of time and
rarely matters (esp. at the appellate level).

\_ This may simply be a difference of opinion, but I find that
the justices seem more influenced by the Q&A these days
than the actual briefs.

But since we're on this topic, democratic Georgia is
different from Saddam's Iraq with its history of
aggression. The US actually did present its trumped-up
case to the UN etc. and gave Saddam alternatives. Russia
pretty much just rolled tanks in. We are also not annexing
pieces of Iraq to the US. |

Good comment Marked as spam Reply Even if we were to grant the assertion about his intelligence, I would not hand over the most powerful office in the world to a guy with the intellectual maturity of your average liberal arts major. he knows more about law and the constitution than u and me and every politician out there no matter how many years youve been in government. Good comment Marked as spam Reply Someone as inexperienced as Obama accusing another of being inexperienced would've been laughable but to his credit, he caught himself and worded it better... even though I disagree with him but he was good on the spot, I'll give him that much. Good comment Marked as spam Reply The problem, Yakko, is that Obama's inexperience only applies to his current incarnation. You see, Obama was there in the beginning, before ever you were born, for he was the Word. Now that the Word is made flesh, it takes some time getting used to these little human ideas like reason, facts, logic, integrity and humility. It would be like all of us being transformed into roaches. |
