6/11 Fox News: Not even trying to hide the racism anymore
        http://www.sadlyno.com/archives/9671.html
        \_ http://sadlyno.com? Pst. Nice try.
\_ MSNBC, now officially part of the Obama campaign. And?
\_ First, you are wrong. But even if you are that's not the case.
\_ First, you are wrong. But even if you are that's not the issue.
It's not that Fox is blatently pro-R. I expect that. It's that
Fox is being pretty damn racist. I'm not cool with "anti-Obama"
turning into "stoke the flames of ugly racism." And calling
Obama's wife his "baby mama" is pretty fucking obviously
racist overtones. Then again, this is the same network that
let's Bill O'" my god black people eat with knives and forks"
            Reilly on the air.

\_ You know Michelle called Barack her "babby daddy", right?
\_ So what? Seriously. If you don't see that Fox is not so
subtly painting Michelle Obama as an uppity angry black
woman you have your head in the sand. I don't care
if you don't like Obama. At this point I don't care
when it comes to Fox being a shill for the Republican
party. But I do care when then the anti-Obama strategy
is to pander to racism. Then again what else do you
expect from a party that pretty much has no way to win
                    unless they pander to hate.
\_ Yeah, I wish the Dems would knock that off too.
\_ Obama is Malkin's Baby Daddy? This explains everything.

A "baby mama" is a term used to describe a woman who got impregnated and whose man left her. That's obviously not the case with the Obamas since they're, you know married. It's slang that some men use to refer to the mother of their child(ren), someone who is not their wife. Keep it coming FauxNews, first the "terrorist fist jab" and now "Obama's baby momma." Next thing you know they're going to accuse him of spitting watermelon seeds at McCain. I didn't think the definition left a lot of wiggle room and I'm sure, were it to evolve as the language often does, I certainly wouldn't hear it first from Fox News. I just wonder which particular dog this is supposed to whistle up. I mean, even the Klan goobers are sharp enough to realize she's misusing the phrase egregiously. Couldn't she check with them first if she was unclear on the whole "baby mama" concept? And she's lying about the whole "liberals are saying" thing on top of it. Ya know, if I walked through Downtown smoking a joint, they'd throw my ass in jail, but this horrible person gets paid to be a miserable jackass. How much Pepto Bismol y'all reckon Malkin goes through trying to patch up the holes in guts from holding in all that bile she carries around? Like the chump who backs down from a fight, gets all the way across the parking lot or the end of the block and then yells faggot' over his shoulder, Ain't Fox's ratings droppin' like a roast beef turd down a dry, bottomless well? What do you suppose they'll be pulling out of their collective asses in september? This is a full-on terrified hate-fest, and the fences are coming down. It will be ugly, for sure, but it will ultimately not matter. Not only has der Roverer's grand plan (possibly) eternally trashed the GOP, these fekkin idjits are too stoopids to understand they're defeating their own interests. Just wait until she actually is the first lady, then you'll see some bullshit. Remember how the last Democratic first lady was treated? And she was white, and didn't do "terrorist fist-bumps". I honestly wasn't expecting this level of racist horsecock until after the conventions, but I see I've underestimated rightwing malignancy yet again. Which means they are fair game, not being of sufficient racial quality to lead our nation. Also, THEY are being racists by constantly making fun of "whitey", but the liberal media covers up for this and loves them. Why is McCain being pilloried by liberals when they are biased? Expect to hear both Barack and Michelle characterized as beneficiaries of affirmative action enrollment and grade inflation, and thus undeserving of their education. Expect some insinuation that Barack Obama used to date white women. Expect that Obama will be derided as talented but lazy and averse to hard work. Expect that no racist attack is too disgusting for these sick fucks who are shitting their pants over the thought of President Obama. Not "baby daddy" - note the lack of the possesive s - which you're supposed to say as one word. Now, that transcript may be misleading and Michelle Obama may have refered to her Harvard-educated, US Senator husband as a "baby daddy". Or you could be full of shit, and given your past performances, I'm inclined to follow the latter. Just 'cause you don't like black people don't mean the rest of us have to be stupid assholes, too. I'm dying to see what will be the form of the first use on Fox News of the word "nigger." Look for many more gratuitous uses of the tarbaby and spade metaphors of course. When I do an image search I use a greasemonkey script to directly link to pictures from Google so I can grab em quickly and never see the image in the context of the page. That happened some time ago when he visited a restaurant in Harlem and commented that he was surprised to see black people using cutlery and ordering politely from menus. Remember how Olbermann busted him for not going down to the homeless shelter that was barely a hundred yards from the Fux Snooz NYC studios to see the homeless vets? and no im Not canadian im european just like you Tarmack002 ( um... it kinda does dis canadians, natioinall healthcare, zamboni, curling and monopoly money, they all about canadians. its BASED on the greenday song american idiot, i suppose thats wwr u got ur point me thinks tarmack002 is living in exile in Bumfuck Kansas. I just hope our ghetto-terrorist-fister-elitest-latte-sipping-muslim-commie-radica l-not-black-black-supremicist-not-blackenough-christian-radical-oh -did-i-mention-muslim-democrap nominee doesn't do anything to fuck it up... have got me alternately befuddled and doubled over with laughter. But only one of those is good for you, teh doctors say (I'm waiting for Smut Clyde to weigh in before I decide for sure). A "baby mama" is a term used to describe a woman who got impregnated and whose man left her. That's obviously not the case with the Obamas since they're, you know married." I estimate that within a month, someone on Fox will be seriously claiming that Barack Hoo-seen Obama is not the father of Michelle Obama's children. It should be repudiated, rebuked, denounced, disassociated, and whatever-the-fuck-all-else, but will it be? If the aggrieved party doesn't stand up and say WTF, how does it get out there? And if the aggrieved party stands up, how is she not labeled as a "victim" (dogwhistle)? i'm going to have to go into a cave for the next 6 months. Reacting to these lowlifes would mean lowering herself to their level. It's not in the best interest of her partner's campaign and her future as a first lady to confront stupid hecklers and bullies. I'm sure she and her husband are prepared for all kinds of bullshit. If Michele follows her husband's example (during the mudslinging he took from Hillary), she'll be controlled and dignified throughout the campaign. Hillary came out smelling like an asshole while Obama looked dignified and in control. Michelle's obligation is to support her partner and impress the voters; demonstrate to them what kind of First Lady she will be. Engaging slimeballs, getting angry over shit like this in public, will only put her reputation at risk (which is what Fox would love, of course). When all is said and done, she'll be the classy dame and they'll look like the low lifes they've always been. That said, viewers and voters should respond loud and often to these vile attacks, whether they support her or not. Comment on We all knew this was coming by Matt TThat's just obnoxiously stupid and racist. And she's lying about the whole "liberals are saying" thing on top of it. Comment on We all knew this was coming by Matt TThat's just obnoxiously stupid and racist. And she's lying about the whole "liberals are saying" thing on top of it. they realise there's an arse-kicking in the near future, and what they are now interested in is which section of the movement cops it worst. They're scared of a reaction against the movement conservatives in general, and so they'll do anything to ensure that the 25%ers turn out and get their crazy on enough that they can stay a credible lobby on the Right. Their campaign's real targets are people like Hagel, Kevin Phillips and John Cole. Thank goodness the "macaca" line was delivered by George Felix Allen Jr. in such a punk, cheap, bullyish manner such that everyone clearly knew he was being a flat out prick; if it had been a dropped mention of "macaca" in another sentence, with no emphasis, there might have been one of these weird debates in which people were trying to explain to the public just what "macaca" might possibly mean. someone I know in the US thinks Fox runs news' and I can't make her understand the difference between news' and bias based on stupidity and ignorance'. What I find especially hilarious is that it's visible minority Uncle Tom Muffkin who appears on the screen, looking darker than the elegant, educated and intelligent Mrs Obama. On the upside, this is about all these guys have, it is not unexpected and it just screams desperation'. No, FAUX-following "Whinin' Whitebreads"(TM) don't even know what King Cobra is. Although I imagine they're anxious just thinking about how many sub-woofers ...

K Lo: I'm with you on "Imagine" -- love the piano, hate the lyrics. A band called A Perfect Circle has a great cover version. I'm not sure the musicians intended it that way, but that's the result, by my lights. The Sajudis anniversary came to mind after a meeting in New York last week with Natan Sharansky, the former Soviet dissident turned Israeli politician turned political theorist. Mr Sharansky has a new book, titled "Defending Identity." It would be equally accurate to call it "The Case Against John Lennon." Or, more specifically, the case against "Imagine," Lennon's anthem to a world with "no countries . For Mr Sharansky, a nine-year resident of the Perm 35 prison camp, that's a vision that smacks too much of the professed beliefs of the ex-Beatle's near namesake, Vladimir Ilyich. Stephens has constructed such a vortex of wingnut batshittery that Ann Althouse might die of envy and Stephen Hawking will be compelled to tweak his theories to account for it. long disapproved (but many dissidents in the Soviet Union admired). Not anti-communism, exactly (though that's where he starts out) but tribalism/Identity Politics. McBarbecue Posted at 16:00 by Clif Robert J Samuelson "You know, its the hat that makes the man." The WaPo, still trying to defend the dignity it shredded by its breathless endorsement of Dick and George's Most Excellent Adventure in Iraq, has apparently instructed Fred Hiatt's merry band of morons to tout the many virtues of war monger and barbecue chef John McCain. ny feel-good fallout from electing Obama would soon fade. He'd have to earn popular support, and this would be made harder by a problem of his own making: He'd have to disavow much of his campaign rhetoric. The reason is that his campaign is itself a contradiction. Don't tell me that Samuelson is now going to contrast this to the rock-solid, never-change-in-a-million-years convictions of McCain. It's so, kid, it's so: By contrast, no one can claim that McCain lacks convictions. He has a hard time changing his mind, even when the evidence overwhelmingly suggests he's wrong. Or has he been sequestered in a Trappist monastery making fruit cakes? Or is he just a dishonest shill trying to kiss Fred Hiatt's ass and hoping to merit a fling with Anne Applebaum? Here's Robert Farley, in a spectacularly irresponsible parenthetical aside to an otherwise sensible post about the Christian fundamentalist-AIPAC alliance: loathing of "latte sipping elitist intellectuals" is recognizable as anti-semitism to anyone with eyes open You have got to be shitting me. In one phrase, Farley's outdone in spades all the Julia Gorins and David Brookses and Norman Podhoretzes of wingnuttia's "Let's Cheapen and Expand the Definition of Anti-Semitism Until it Means Nothing Yet Applies to the Entire Left" brigade and at the same time utterly smeared and potentially hamstrung the entire Left Populist movement. And the sad thing is, he'll probably get away with it and the formulation will gain traction even on the Left because of sore feelings about so many pro-Clinton bloggers sneering at "latte-sipping elitists" in bad faith. The truth is, there are too many latte-sipping elitist intellectuals,' Sensible Liberal and Wingnut, who couldn't give two shits about American poor people. it's a Creative Class/New Class/Middle & Upper Middle Class (over-represented on the internet) vs. Working Poor/Blue Collar (under-represented on the internet) thing. President Bush regrets his legacy as man who wanted war President Bush has admitted to The Times that his gun-slinging rhetoric made the world believe that he was a "guy really anxious for war" in Iraq. He said that his aim now was to leave his successor a legacy of international diplomacy for tackling Iran. In an exclusive interview, he expressed regret at the bitter divisions over the war and said that he was troubled about how his country had been misunderstood. "I think that in retrospect I could have used a different tone, a different rhetoric." Phrases such as "bring them on" or "dead or alive", he said, "indicated to people that I was, you know, not a man of peace". Yeah, you know, I don't think it was saying things like "bring it on" that made people think you loved war, George. Indeed, I think it might have had more to do with the fact that you, you know, started a war. That to me is a better indication of why people think you're really into war. Posted at 18:44 by Clif Anne Applebaum ABOVE: Anne Applebaum is concerned for Obama Republicans have started wracking their brains for clever ways to say, without appearing racist, that Obama's skin color is a reason not to vote for him. this column where she argues that people shouldn't vote for Obama because some foreigners are racist. I've been asked this question by foreigners of various origins a dozen -- or maybe three dozen -- times since the US presidential campaign began for real in January. Which means that it is time to turn this rather offensive question around: Will foreigners accept a black American president? I realize that this, too, may seem like a rather offensive question. And a completely dumb-assed one too, since it seems to suggest that if Obama is elected, the Elyse Palace and the Kremlin will overlook the fact that he's the leader of one of the world's great superpowers and instead start worrying about whether he'll steal the silverware if he's invited to a state dinner. But that's not stopping Anne from asking the question, and the reason she's calling it offensive is to make you think that she's so not racist. t is safe to say that there is a distinct dearth of nonwhite politicians in Europe. The Indian caste system has an element of skin-color discrimination built in. Arab societies have their own history of trading in black slaves. OMFG, you mean if Obama goes on a state visit to Jordan, he'll never come back? He'll be impressed into the service of Queen Noor as a slave and spend the rest of his life wearing a silly poofy satin costume, fanning her white butt with palm fronds and feeding her grapes? Periodically, African students in Moscow are beaten up on the street. And while some of the stares that black Americans say they get on the street in Warsaw or Prague reflect simple curiosity, some, I'm told, contain an element of hostility, too. What people on the street in Poland (or elsewhere) think of Obama because he's black isn't going to matter one bit unless Obama is wandering the streets of Warsaw panhandling for change or trying to sell fake tribal carvings. Instead he's going to be traveling the streets behind black tinted windows in a a convoy of armored Suburbans and carrying a briefcase with the secret code that would allow him to blow up the entire planet. That usually generates some respect -- even at bus stops in Prague, if that matters. Applebaum's wackjobbery carries on for quite some time in the same vein, including a detour to the racist yellow peril in Japan. It's ironic that the same people who hit the fainting couch and clutch their necklaces when a US court writes one sentence referencing a foreign law would be so terribly concerned about what Wally Warsaw has to say about Barack Obama and posit that as a reason Obama shouldn't be elected President. And speaking of fainting couches and clutched necklaces, just imagine the speed with which Applebaum would be flat on her back, hyperventilating smelling salts and waving her palm at her Adam's apple, if someone said that a Jewish president shouldn't be elected because the Arabs are antisemitic. Srsly: Ledeen has squeezed nearly every moronic analogy, utterly batshit conviction, shopworn trope, and demagogic twistification that neocons have had about foreign policy in the last eleventy years into this column. Pretty much the only thing missing is a claim that one or all of the many Hitlers of the Muslim world possess WMDs But then Ledeen already used that one to great effect, didn't he? The first half of the essay is about the history of Western responses to Evil -- how stupid liberals refused to see the awfulness that was Hitler and Mussolini and Stalin until it was almost too late. Then, Ledeen tells...
