Universal Health Coverage Provided by United States War Funding As you saw on the map yesterday, Iraq and Afghanistan have universal health coverage provided by United States war funding. In Iraq alone we spent $950 million to establish a universal health care system. The first year after the fall of Saddam Hussein's government Iraq exported $6 billion in crude oil. They couldn't afford their own universal health care system. "Iraq's Medical Meltdown The bombings are only the beginning of the story. What comes next for Iraq's wounded is a frightening descent into a rapidly crumbling health-care system. searchterm=iraq %20health%20care I really think we're better off than Iraq. About Me RichW Florida, United States I'm one of the lucky ones. I've been challenged throughout my life and I enjoy challenging myself even more. I'm married and have two married daughters and two grandchildren. My wife and I have been fortunate to have had many careers, owned several businesses, and lived in many places. Since the age of two I've walked with crutches, as a young adult I learned I was a Type 1 diabetic, and several years ago I had two heart attacks leading to bypass surgery. I call them challenges but I don't mean it in a negative sense. I couldn't imagine going through life without these wonderful opportunities to challenge myself every day. From the moment I wake until I go to bed at night, I'm entertained.
