James Meeks Hello, you either have JavaScript turned off or an old version of Adobe's Flash Player. Good comment Marked as spam Reply So the N-word isn't offensive if I'm black? I can say the N-word if I'm black and it's not a problem, but if I'm white, I get guns pulled on me and a bunch of angry stares? Good comment Marked as spam Reply First off your comparison is erroneous, a person who is jewish normally can't be recognized as such on sight, and most asian stereotypes tend to be positive, seen as industrious and skilled in math and science. African Americans still deal with the legacy of slavery and that it was only a generation or two ago that they were treated as second class citizens. It doesn't help that a combination of institutional racism and the simple fact that poverty is often left to fester ensure hardship. Good comment Marked as spam Reply "First off your comparison is erroneous, a person who is jewish normally can't be recognized as such on sight, and most asian stereotypes tend to be positive" Ever heard of a yamicka (spelling) and curly sideburns, extremely annoying, real ugly, really cheap with Jews? I don't think having a tiny dick, can't drive worth a damn is very positive for Asians either! Good comment Marked as spam Reply And Bush played dressup by putting on a flight suit and pretending to be a soldier. With what he said, I'll be honest that you can't sugarcoat some of the problems here. The system itself is loaded against minorities, both because of institutional racism and the fact that minorities are more likely to be lower class, which in turn means they will face more obstacles and have fewer resources creating overall a system that is likely to evoke a sense of futility, self loathing, and frustration. Good comment Marked as spam Reply Please tell me what is a "minority"? I live on the South Side of Chicago - very heavily Black. The overwhelming "Majority" of people on the South Side of Chicago belong to so called "minority" groups. Since I am in the "minority" am I entitled to preferential affirmative action programs for "minorities"? She got a $300,000 a year job as the Director of Diversity at the Univ. of Chicago Hospital and she doesn't even have to show up for work! Good comment Marked as spam Reply The term minority has to do with a combination of population percentage as well as economic and political power. Like it or not, we do still judge based off of color, it has been less than 200 years since we finally abolished slavery, and let's consider that the work to make it so that any non-white could fully participate in this country as an equal was even more recent. The fact of the matter is that the system itself is loaded against african americans, latinos, and other ethnic groups. Good comment Marked as spam Reply Do you ever watch the COPS, Wildest Police Chases, Most Shocking show's? It just seems like all the people on there are the black's for some odd reason and they just love to run from the COPS too, it's a no wonder they are so good at sports, they just love to run!
