As I've said before if my boyfriend insisted I get a gun I would demand that it be a hello kitty one. Comment from Absinth Time: January 18, 2008, 3:45 am I believe that as soon as the police starts carrying one of this cuties around crime will go down drastically! Just imagine being a robber and telling your friends that you were arrested with or shot by a Hello Kitty gun... what policeman would carry this gun around and not feel silly? blog.riflegear.com/archive/2007/12/26/hello-kitty-ar-15---evil-black-rifle-meets-cute-and.aspx Hell Kitten AR-15 - evil black rifle meets cute and cuddly So called "Assault Weapons Bans" such as the now expired 1994 Clinton ban and the one still in place in states such as California seek to ban rifles that our misguided legislators feel have no purpose in civilian hands. They identify "evil features" they can use to generically classify these "military style" weapons in sweeping terms. Of course these features, such as plastic pistol grips, barrel shrouds, and bayonet lugs have absolutely nothing to do with the firearms potential lethality in the real world and are merely cosmetic features. After all, it really doesn't matter what color the firearm is if it fires the same ammunition right? Well, in the "spirit" of the California Assault Weapon Ban I decided to do my best to alleviate the fears of my fellow citizens and gun-banning legislators when I put together a new AR-15 for my wife. Below is the result of my painstaking work to transform an Evil Black Rifle (EBR) into a Cute Pink RIfle (CPR). Hell Kitten AR-15 This rifle is 100% legal in California because it is based on an "off-list" lower receiver made by Stag Arms and has no evil features at all, instead featuring a fixed stock instead of the evil collapsible stock, a muzzle brake in place of the vile flash-hider, and a MonsterMan Grip instead of the heinous and malicious plastic pistol grip. The C Products magazine looks like a 30 round magazine body but is permanently modified to only allow 10 rounds. I have to give props to my friend Drew at Armory Airbrush who painted the parts for me and did a great job on the graphics. com/ It has come to my attention that a lot of people think this rifle is merely a photoshop job. To convince the doubters here is a picture of the painted parts prior to assembly. Hell Kitten Parts Update 1/13/2008: Well we finally got the Kitten rifle to the range. Here are a couple pics of the wife shooting her new pink paper puncher. Hopefully this will put to rest the chatter about this not being a "real" rifle. Update 2/23/08: Due to an overwhelming number of comments posted on this page, it was taking an unacceptable amount of time to load. To improve the performance, I have moved a majority of the comments to an archived list. Nevermind the fact that full-auto firearms have been illegal in this country since 1934. Nevermind the fact that the US has a relatively low murder rate. Nevermind the fact that your villified "assault rifles" are used in less than 1% of crimes involving a firearm. Nevermind the fact that it is legal to repaint and refinish a legal firearm. I see where some of the liberals are coming from here, I really do. When you are exposed to nothing but lies and distortion on a daily basis about firearms and let politically and emotionally charged term enter your vernacular about firearms, I expect to see the horror in your faces. It's a shame that so many people can't be open-minded about such an important issue as The 2nd Amendment. My father taught me firearm safety from a young age and kept everything locked away until I took my first plinks at tin cans at 8 years old with a Daisy pellet gun. For the doubters here and about, visit a local gun shop or shooting range and converse with the people there. You'll find they are salt-of-the-earth folks and not the stereotypical revolutionary rednecks stockpiling for the People's Liberation Army invasion. I have been trying to get my youngest daughter (28 years old now) inot the shooting sports for years. She has always gone shooting with me once in awhile but never really took a great interest other than learning gun safety and keeping a small snubby around for self-protection. She has been a huge "Hello Kitty" fan since she was a tike. I showed her this rifle and now she is begging me to build her one and go shooting. Would you mind emailing me some details on the rifle and how much you had to put into it (bottom line for the finished rifle)? I want to make one for her so I can get her to the range more than once a month. You say you like to hunt, good for you, but why is your choice of firearm acceptable but mine is not? You kill animals with yours, I shoot paper targets with mine and could use it in a self defense situation at some point. Isn't it an erosion of our freedoms to let a group of people (the gov't, incfluenced by an anti-gun lobby) to decide what we as law-abiding citizens can lawfully own? Answer me this - what is it about a AR-15 that makes it more or less desirable than a Ruger mini-14? I assume since you say you like to hunt that you are pro-gun. Why divide groups of gun owners in such a way that allows the antis to divide us and slowly erode our rights? It's a slippery slope and before you know it THEY are deciding that the only thing we can own are airsoft rifles. An "assault rifle" is any rifle built for military purposes only that has a selector switch that allows it to be fired in fully automatic mode, burst mode or semi-automatic mode. A rifle that shoots semi-automatic mode only is not and never will be an "assault rifle". The whining anti-gunners have just added to their pack of lies to create pandemonium by calling semi-automatic rifles an "assault rifle". An AR-15, AR-10 and other such rifles are all semi-automatic and used for target and sporting purposes by law abiding citizens all over the USA (except for California and we don't consdier those people Americans anyway). They are good, dependable weapons that are great in foul weather conditions that occur when hunting. None of these rifles have a selector switch that can put them into burst mode or fully automatic mode hence they are not "assault rifle". All you anti-gun whiners and cry babies, please get your facts straight and try not to lie every other sentence when you talk about guns and especially "assault rifles". If you where from the United States and understood what our consitution stands for, you would understand the meaning of the "RIGHT TO BEAR ARMS" Once again people who are not educated such as you in proper firearm identification causes us gun owners to defend ourselves and most inportant our RIGHTS. Why David has to continue to defend himself over and over is proof that there are people out there that have no idea what they are talking about. David great job, keep up the good work and stop feeling like you have to respond and defend yourself to all the un-educated / un-informed people of the world. I was staring at the gun parts and thinking that somehow this has to be photoshopped... You're allowed to own them, if you're a member of hunting or shooting society. I guess I'm for the strict gun laws, but not for total ban. I'm not trying to argue that the outcome would have been different if the victims have had guns. Some politicians followed, perhaps to score some easy points. The absurdity in this all is that the homicidal maniac was both determined and intelligent. You can't prevent that kind of person from killing his fellow humans by preventing legal gun sales. BTW: if you want to make an impact, listen to what Oldbrass says. Several pro-gun commenters are simply abusive, and end up sounding like teenagers. From "there's a problem in the world" he gets to "I'm the only smart person, even superhuman", continuing to "that's why I have to make a political statement by shooting some of my shoolmates". I know that the gun laws in California are very disapointing to enthusiasts and gun collecters, but its no use argueing with ignorant people about it. There will always be people who acknowledge that guns are not toys and respect guns and know how to use them safely, and there will always be anti-gun people un-educated about guns and gun crime statistics.. The fact is not all of us can just move away from California to own the guns we want so we will have to continue to support gun rights advocates such as the NRA and other organizations. By the way you have a great business and great customer service keep up the good work! because they took a couple pics of a girl holding it up at a shooting range all of you dipshits believe that it's a real gun?
