10/25 Lefty enemies of free speech force Horowitz from stage.
        http://csua.org/u/jto
\_ not gonna read it. you could have written that headline before
he did his stupid islamo facism week.
\_ Oh, come on. There's video of the nutters on the site. Doesn't
that get your anti-free-speech blood riled up?
\_ It's amazing how all the leftists have plenty of opportunities to
speak, but they seem to be the only ones shutting down speech on
              the other side. -op
\_ Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha! The blatant disregard for
                 reality is charming!
\_ So which are you claiming--that leftists *don't* have
plenty of opportunities to speak? Or that they're the only
ones chasing their opponents off the stage?
                    \_ http://cdn.moveon.org/data/ShutUp_Final_BbandLo.mov
\_ Oh you've got to be kidding me. O'Reilly's show is
                          hardly a public forum.
\_ Oh, right, and he's "only an entertainer," so
                             there you go.
\_ You can't see the diff between a staged TV
show where the paid host kicks off a 'guest'
he doesn't like, and a public speech getting
                                mobbed?
\_ If a bunch of raving lefties stormed the
Fox News HQ and mobbed BO'R, would you
                                   say "Fair play"?
\_ You mean all those people who were arrested for
                        booing or heckling Bush?
\_ Are you taking your ball with you?
\_ No free speech for fascists!
\_ That was always my favorite line from the Sproul Plaza chanting
              idiots.
\_ They may be serious students of the French revolution and
are engaging in a clever word play on "No liberty
for the enemies of liberty!". Or maybe not.
\_ horowitz deliberately sets up shit like this. he's been doing it
           for years. gonna ignore him.
\_ If only other people ignored him, rather than chasing him out of
the room, there wouldn't be a problem.
\_ Sure he's doing it for PR but he has a point about the
censorship thing. (And please don't quote the dictionary
              definition at me.)
\_ "Your Honor, I did rape the defendant, but look at what the
              bitch was wearing!" -- ilyas

Veterans for Peace showed up with their billboards of dead children. The veteran was interviewed with the camera crew that was there working with Incorrect U David Horowitz is introduced... The booing started when David Horowitz walked on the stage and the interruptions lasted until the talk was cancelled. The Emory crowd stood one by one with their backs to David Horowitz. The communists fell into line- Horowitz just pegged them but was having a hard time with the interruptions that were constant. Finally a member of the university security staff told the crowd to sit down or they would be forcibly escorted out of the building. I had so many questions - and the man etted off to the airport before anyone was the wiser. I guess Emory deserved it, but I drove over 100 miles to watch this 35 minute free for all heckle fest. Incorrect U (h/t Washington Times) has the first, from Emory University last night. David Horowitz was on hand to speak as part of Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week. Evidently quite a few in the crowd wanted to prevent awareness from having a chance to take root. They stood and turned their backs to him en masse, then erupted when the school threatened to kick them out. The end result was that Emory shut down the speech entirely. So Horowitz never got to deliver his speech on Islamo-Fascism, but he did help expose that fact that Emory is evidently infested with anti-speech fascists. Geewhiz // Oct 25, 2007 at 12:25 pm My former roommate is the short center-right guy with the orange cap. I spoke to him shortly before leaving the building after taking a midterm, and he did not indicate to me that he'd be a nuisance of a heckler that evening. Needless to say, my current roommate isn't fond of him (no longer, it seems, am I). Curtailing speech from the opposition means one day YOURS will be curtailed. What a bunch of whiney crybabies - don't like what someone says so you shut them down. here's a rundown on how free speech works: horowitz is free to spew as much hateful misinformation as he can, and the students at emory are free to call him on his crap and let him know that his opinions are stupid. They probably weren't ejected because Horowitz didn't want to appear as an ogre. Truth be told, these "progressives" lack integrity and honor, and unless the speaker is a raving moonbat like themselves, they'll refuse to behave. here's a rundown on how free speech works: horowitz is free to spew as much hateful misinformation as he can, and the students at emory are free to call him on his crap and let him know that his opinions are stupid. Just because you are in the audience does NOT give you the right to interrupt a speaker and an event. Voices do not have to be raised and insults are not required. expression without fear or burden of being persecuted for speaking, whether it is popular or not. I would be far more impressed and likely to listen to the points of the Anti-War movement if they could reign in the righteous indignation an cogently express themselves in an intelligent manner. Catch-phrases, talking points and synchronized ass-holery do not win arguments, it makes more people dismiss you. com): I read your article covering the David Horowitz speaking event with both interest and dismay. The article left out some key facts about the event and "Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week" in general. Why the headlines about "outsiders shutting it down" when the organizers admitted that many Emory students were clearly involved? Additionally, the advertisement Horowitz's crew put in the Emory Wheel promoting this event stated that it was a public event being hosted on campus. The audience was not going to be allowed to field open questions (as was made clear by the 35 index cards outside the event that people were asked to write their questions on) and if the speech had not been disrupted, what this guy had to say would have been recorded as having occurred largely unopposed. The Emory Wheel refused to print a paid ad from a leftist group criticizing Bush's threats of war on Iran shortly before the speech (even though Horowitz has advertised in the Wheel both this week and in the past). Certainly not an atmosphere of free debate, still less a "leftist dictatorship on campus" as Horowitz might spin it.
