10/16 Is there any free tool on soda or in Windoze / Linux that takes a
bunch of .jpg files (wedding pictures, etc.) and generates
some good-looking web pages that I can host on soda? Thanks.
\_ I know of such a free tool on Windows, but I don't know of any
for this Windoze thing. Sorry. Is Windoze / Linux sort of like
RMS's GNU / Linux?
\_ Windows tool please then?
\_ Why host it on soda when it's reliability is um, non-existent
and the quota sucks? There are tons of ad-free picture hosting
sites (e.g. link:picasaweb.google.com with 1G quota,
auto compression upload, folder management, unlimited
bandwidth, 99.998% up time, etc.
\_ Because, really, your wedding photos need four nines of uptime.
And, in the interest of being pedantic, name *one* photo site
with four nines of up time? Hell, name one with three. -dans
\_ Yahoo's Flickr. You lose.
\_ Are they really four 9's? Most of Yahoo certainly is not.
\_ they're way better than soda, anyway.
\_ What is soda's 9's?
\_ two?
\_ two 9's would be 3.65 days, so soda has
one 9.
\_ Flickr has had total outages > 8 hours, and has daily
(hourly?) localized outages. You're just wrong. And once
again, I ask, why do you need even three 9's of uptime for
your wedding photos? -dans
\_ because it sucks to have any service unavailable at
unpredictable times, even if it's only for an hour
a month. Not that soda comes close to three 9's.
\_ There is still quota on soda? |
