html What it is In 2005, the Field Research Corporation conducted two polls, one statewide and one focusing on the Bay Area, to investigate public opinion about children's health and well being. The Lucile Packard Foundation for Children's Health commissioned the polls. Respondents were asked to indicate on a four-point scale ranging from 'extremely' to 'not at all,' how concerned they are about select issues, including the well being of children. An important goal of making these data available is to help raise awareness of children's health and well being among policymakers, the media, and the general public. How children are faring These data describe public perceptions about how children are faring, rather than provide information about the actual condition of children.
