8/22 For all you Mac fans, a description of Apple's current offerings (from
        http://www.aftermath-technologies.blogspot.com
"As for the macrophilliacs out there. I am so sorry you
spent a stupid amount of money for a crippled *nix box
in a shiny package. But face it, you are running an
                 expensive,poserific,drm loving piece of enviromentally
                 damaging,disposable, x86 crap."
\_ Nobody ever asked you to buy a Mac. It's interesting that
anti-Mac people are far more vocal than Mac fans are.
           \_ no they're not
\_ And in this one thread, you have an anti-Mac and
anti-Mac-user blog posted on the motd and anti-Mac
people aren't more vocal? Mac people aren't trying
to pick fights with you. The anti-Mac people, on
                 the other hand, are.
\_ If crippling *nix is what allows average person to use it,
that's not a problem, x86-ness irrelevant to users, and I
don't know about DRM-loving. BUT, I do agree that Apple
products are environmentally damaging to some degree.
\_ All computers are environmentally damaging. If you want to
save the environment, bring your computer, ipod, stereo, home
theatre, vehicle (yes your prius too), and the rest of your
western techo frills to an environmentally sound waste disposal
site and be done with it.
\_ That would be stupid. Most of those devices are undamaging
in regular usage. The vast majority of the damage cause in
production. So if you want to save the environment stop
buying new toys, keep the ones you have and treat them well
so they last a long time. Don't throw what you have away,
that's just adding more toxic crap to landfills.
        \_ Uh huh. -dans
\_ I dislike Macs as much as anyone, but this guy's blog is really
           stupid.
\- what is there to dislike about macs except for the price?
[and the still crappy power connectors, but that boils down
              to price too]
              \_ the users
\_ Spoken like a true BOFH zealot. Have fun storming the
                    castle. -dans
\_ "storming the castle?" I *am* the motherfucking castle.

com%2Fsearch aftermath technologies Strange electronics recycling. Time for some commentary: Microsoft: show us the your 235 patents or STFU. I'm fairly certain that your patents are pretty bogus and that you run a real risk of getting into a fight that even you cannot win. the propane conversion equipment has been moved the hearse. We've been attracting media attention and it appears that you will be seeing our bizarre machines on the road and on your television sometime this year. We've also discovered that refurbing a hearse is different from any other vehicle. The second is an attempt to document the engine running (astute observers will note that the fan is spinning) It starts and runs for about 10 seconds then we run out hydrogen as the very large engine empties that tube faster than a ritalin dosed child inhales a pixie stick. Next we increase the capacity of the aluminum/lye part of our reactor (get 2-3 more buckets ) and start determining what lye/aluminum/water ratios and what water temp is optimal. Warning to those stupid enough to try this: A mistake with lye is a very painfull way to turn yourself into soap. This is commonly considered a bad thing and only a total nutcase would even try it. engine runs on hydrogen and we have the next development planned. We expect that a rather massive modification of the timing and fuel delivery system (ie getting it actually tuned and having a fuel system that doesn't consist of a hose jammed into the carb should help. Got to the point where we divert over 200,000 pounds per month of toxic waste from landfill, gave away 1200 plus computers and beat a bankruptcy into submission. Pictures of the monster: First picture is of the engine compartment looking ominous. The second is from the oposite side and you can see the pre-heater and connection to the mixer stack. We got dugg today and some people have some misconceptions. We did not add the ghz of the various procs together to get our effective power. We ran a benchmark on a single machine and then ran the same benchmark on the cluster. as for the people who claim that 30 amps is a useless measurment of power consumption: Last I checked standard wall current is 115vac so please quit being obtuse. I am so sorry you spent a stupid amount of money for a crippled *nix box in a shiny package. But face it, you are running an expensive, poserific, drm loving piece of enviromentally damaging, disposable, x86 crap.
