swf: An amazing product promoted by a bald man with a bad tache will teach you how to create an utterly useless shortcut and then delete it in Windows ME!
eobanb 100 points 14 hours ago* What is surprising (unsurprising) to me is how amateurish a lot of these graphics look.
Wriiight 2 points 9 hours ago When I followed the link to the fox news website, I thought someone had lolcatted the front page image. But no, they really did put in large white all caps text in their image on purpose.
Hetisjantje 100 points 12 hours ago* Well come on, the worst that can happen is that the info on the Fox web site will be falsified.
I think in there eyes the worst that could happen is that someone might alter the "news" to resemble something reasonable and true. The Fox News audience would be outraged and totally alienated!
Tsen 3 points 9 hours ago Yeah, I can't seem to gain access, either. I know I'm not making a typo--the username and password were stored by my FTP client, but it's bouncing me now. And I've still got an archive of all the pictures and some more interesting files from the FTP downloaded...
danlock2 2 points 9 hours ago yeah, I ran the script in Bash, and it couldn't connect, said invalid name / pass or whatever.
FunnyMan3595 -2 points 9 hours ago logpasswd="T1me\ 0ut" "So, what should we use as a password? A short, common phrase with a couple of letters changed 1nt0 numbers!
If you want a secure password, use at least a couple of symbols. They put the brute forcing time into the centuries scale. EDIT: Also, it's only eight characters, which isn't much.
GotMex 7 points 6 hours ago It's an alphanumeric + symbols password, of a moderate length. Assuming there are only 10 symbols you could use, there are about 46 ^ 8 (20,047,612,200,000) passwords possible.
judgmentalist 3 points 5 hours ago There are 46^8 passwords possible, but you start with words, then you do words with numbers or symbols around them, then you do words with l33t substitutions, then you do words with l33t substitutions and symbols around them. It's probably only feasible if you've got the hash of the password, because attempting that many logins would probably take forever. Do phrases & number subsitutions and you'll be better off: "America!
Hetisjantje 4 points 12 hours ago Which neither Apache (Apache License), Ubuntu (GPLv2) and PHP (PHP License) are using...
xjvz 5 points 8 hours ago To continue being a meanie head, the essential four software freedoms would never allow such a license.
I run the number 1 website on all metrics on my cellphone running Windows Mobile with Vista skin, IIS and Visual Basic.
oreng 5 points 11 hours ago I used to admin the mae-west pipe on 05G Nokia. And "Nokia" in the previous sentence included make and model number.
But seriously, I just found it amusing that someone slammed Ubuntu likening it to running an iMac, and yet that's exactly what I'm doing.
You'll very likely want to upgrade the RAM, but any PC100 stick will do. It's a little fiddly to get the display working correctly, and you have to reset the clock manually to get Gnome to load (the clock battery is long dead), but it works. I don't know that I'd want to use it as a desktop, but as an internal Wiki server it works just swimmingly.
faczar 10 points 9 hours ago* Then the materials factory manager says "Just use the keyboard" and then they say "How quaint" and begin typing at high speed, creating a formula for transparent aluminum.
Maybe you've missed the last few years, but Debian pretty much turned into this "Ubuntu" thing. Making it an acceptable platform for hosting most things.
