11/27 So how do you keep the stupid RIDE BIKE people off of the trails? Is
it legal for them to ride on hiking trails? I've almost been killed
a few times now by bikers barreling down quiet mountain trails that
they thought they owned. I hate them.
\_ So you support bike-only trails? Great! -tom

10/5 What's a good chain lubricant if you take your bicycle to the beach

\_ There's nothing you can do to keep sand out of your chain if
you're riding on the beach regularly. Whatever you use for

A high tech, high performance, environmentally friendly unicycle, of course! The Bombardier EMBRIO Advanced Concept is the most radical design for a vehicle I have ever seen. I once saw a unicycle with a supercharged Chevy big block on it. A bucket seat was on a bracket above the blower and it rode on one very large drag slick. But this was a novelty vehicle at a car show, a creation for amusement that was never meant to crank and run. The Embrio is a design that well anticipates construction and mass production. And technically, every time you stop you're doing a stoppie! Seems like it would be hard to ever relax on this thing. These parallel wheeled "pedestrian" vehicles work exceptionally well. You're probably more likely to fall off your two wheeled motorcycle than a Segway. The technology is not what I would consider simple, but building a balancing vehicle isn't beyond the capabilities of a serious do-it-yourself type with good computer skills. I even found a couple of balancing unicycles built of commonly available materials! There's no bells and whistles, only what's necessary to get you from point A to point B and it's small enough to be stored in a closet or the corner of your den. I think once you got past the initial unfamiliarity of the new machine it would be an absolute blast to ride! Just the facts: With fewer parts to manufacturer and assemble, a motorized unicycle will be cheaper for the consumer. As much as I love traditional motorcycles, the Embrio Advanced Concept eliminates the need for a second wheel! MC Editor Be sure to watch the Embrio Video at the Bombardier site! Aimed at the 18 to 45 age group, this advanced concept prefigures the kind of user-friendly, minimalist vehicles we might be seeing - and using - on our urban, suburban and country roads in the year 2025. The Design This project was conceived as an exercise in forward thinking: what will the future of recreational transportation be like? Bombardier Recreational Products designers were asked to come up with a prospective concept for a recreational vehicle that would meet the needs of people in the year 2025. The Bombardier EMBRIO concept is one of several concepts that were proposed by different internal design teams of Bombardier Recreational Products which had to respect the design philosophy "to create highly innovative, functional and exciting products to exceed people's recreational needs", and answer the following challenge: what would be the "next thing" in recreational vehicles? The resulting concept is a minimalist, pure and simplified design that uses clean lines and on which the human print is obvious, yet fully blended in the overall styling theme. Both beautiful and functional, the Bombardier EMBRIO is exciting to look at, and should be even more exciting to ride. Bombardier Recreational Products of Canada, is best known for their ATV's, Lynx snowmobiles and Sea-Doo watercraft. A Bombadier was the only ATV to finish the grueling 2004 Dakar Rally!
