There is great potential for MOHAMMED Teheri-azar to make some good come out of the evil he has done. If he is truly contrite and not just engaging in taqqiya (religiously sanctioned lying) he could demonstrate that to the court by offering to give talks at mosques to Muslims youth groups. He could explain, in real terms, what swallowing a literal translation of the Koran can do to their lives. He could become a better role model by doing this and possibly lower that figure of 26% of young American Muslims who believe that suicide bombings are justified. I am waiting for some "moderate" Muslims to pick up on that. How long do we have to wait for the moderate Muslims to mount a response to the bin Ladens of the world and start to take back their religion?
Report abuse From the Koran Say to the Unbelievers, if (now) they desist (from Unbelief), their past would be forgiven them; but if they persist, the punishment of those before them is already (a matter of warning for them). And fight them on until there is no more tumult or oppression, and there prevail justice and faith in God altogether and everywhere; but if they cease, verily God doth see all that they do. But it is possible that ye dislike a thing which is good for you, and that ye love a thing which is bad for you.
Report abuse "Please get off Islam or learn something from its many more moderate adherents." Dear anneonymousone, I have yet to hear ANY so-called moderate Muslims clearly and unequivocally condemn MOHAMMED Tehderi-azar's actions or any other jihadist's actions by name. I am beginning to believe there is no such thing as a moderate Muslim. When people say certain things (such as MOHAMMED Teheri-azar) and their actions comport with what they say (MOHAMMED Teheri-azar again), then I tend to take them at their word. I don't go into denial because reality is just too much to face. Religions are not some raw materials which believers can mold into anything they please. But their frequency and volume are multiplied when the acts are enshrined by religious texts and encouraged by those who teach those texts. An intolerant, violent and misogynistic religion is the problem.
Report abuse Maybe this is in retaliation because UNC made all those incoming freshmen read "Approaching the Qu'ran" a few years ago... It must be a proud day at UNC to have not only this joker in the news but also 2 time graduate Mike Nifong in court.
Report abuse Make an example of him, put him on roadside litter pick up and brush clearing crews for the first 15 years and then re evaluate his punishment after that.
