5/26 Rosie O'Donald's departure prompted me to watch a snippet of
The View, and OMG it is pretty much a bunch of old hags yapping
and screaming about... nothing. This show is a totaly POS. I can't
believe people actually watch this crap.

Rosie O'Donnell Elizabeth Hasselbeck The View Fight Argument We're starting to get the impression that if you left Rosie O'Donnell in a room with a nothing but a pile of dust, 20 minutes later Rosie O'Donnell would be bellowing abuse at the dust and rolling around the floor trying to crush all the dust in her fist. Obviously it'd help if the dust was quite as staggeringly objectionable as Elizabeth Hasselbeck, though - because then Rosie O'Donnell and the Elizabeth Hasselbeck dust would end up having the same sort of deafeningly embarrassing 10-minute screeching argument as Rosie O'Donnell and the real Elizabeth Hasselbeck had on The View yesterday. We think the argument was about the war in Iraq, although it ended up being the kind of babbling, directionless, full-volume, split screen squabble that you normally only hear on the last train home. Needless to say, though, fans of seeing overbearing lesbians and fundamentalist right-wing bubbleheads furiously howling at each other with no clear winner on a daytime TV show - with only the magic word 'Alicia Silverstone' being used to momentarily sedate them - should totally check out the video of The View feud on the next page. The nearest thing we have to The View in the UK is Loose Women, which is more or less the same except that an average edition of Loose Women features the woman who used to be married to Chris Evans bickering with someone who used to be on Emmerdale about curtains for 20 minutes before Curtis Stigers sings everyone a lovely song, as opposed of a group of ludicrously narrow-minded people who openly hate each other trying to bark their own abusive badly-formed opinions louder than anyone else because a discussion about the war got out of hand, which is sort of more The View territory. The View has given us some golden moments over the last year or so. Rosie O'Donnell is leaving The View soon, and after Baldwin and Trump and DeVito she needed a sort of high to go out on. So thank heavens for Elizabeth Hasselbeck - the cartoonishly right-wing pro-gun pro-life former reality TV idiot, exact personification of the reason some people don't like America and co-host of The View - for starting to screech wildly about the war on yesterday's The View, because her opinions happened to be the exact opposite of Rosie O'Donnell's, and people should know by now that that's fightin' talk. This is basically the fight between Rosie O'Donnell and Elizabeth Hasselbeck in bulletpoint form: * Another co-host of The View with a voice like a cement mixer reads a list of why George Bush should be thrown out of office while Elizabeth Hasselbeck tuts and yelps like a Tourette's suffer being electrocuted. However borderline hilarious the video of Rosie O'Donnell and Elizabeth Hasselbeck screeching at each other is, we're sad to report that the two of them seem to have patched things up, as E! her crazy blog: "a split screen/ new heights or lows/ depending on who u ask." Next week - Rosie O'Donnell mishears two The View crew members talking about "a rack," thinks they're having a discussion about Iraq and kills them both with a clawhammer. May 24th, 2007 at 4:27 pm It tends to make you wonder whether (insert string of adjectives) Rosie is being so punchy because she's finally realized that she's never once been funny despite allegedly being a "comedian". May 24th, 2007 at 4:52 pm Elizibeth has never been an asset to the view in her own way she is just like watching Star Jones as soon as she came on the view I quit watching it but when Rosie came I I started watching it again. It would be a good move for the show to get rid of Elizebeth. May 24th, 2007 at 6:34 pm What a great website you've got here. "Another co-host of The View with a voice like a cement mixer reads a list of why George Bush should be thrown out of office while Elizabeth Hasselbeck tuts and yelps like a Tourette's suffer being electrocuted. Um, my two cents is that Rosie needs to pull back on the wacko gov't conspiracy theories, and Elizabeth needs to stop touting her White House connections. Rosie's rants are beginning to sound more psychological in nature, ie, she needs some help. I thought Elizabeth's response of "You need to defend your own insinuations" was perfect. Rosie has effectively pigeonholed herself in the past few months, and in the process killed off chances of game show employment (buh-bye Price is Right) and stuck herself firmly into the late night chat realm along with Bill Maher. May 24th, 2007 at 7:01 pm Politics and religion are two topics that all people have strong views and feelings about. It is unfortunate that Elizabeth and Rosie got caught up in the moment of an argument due to their opposite feelings about the Iraq war and present Republican president Bush. I'm sure Joy who started the conversation about Al Gore"s comments about the Republicans had no idea her topic would escalate into a full blown argument between Rosie and Elizabeth. Let's just let bygones be bygones, and "kiss and make-up"you two, Life is too short to hold grudges. May 24th, 2007 at 11:49 pm Bush did steal the election, you nitwit. It's called purging the voters roles and disenfranchising millions of elegible voters. The NYtIMES, in collaboration with three newspapers in Florida, The Washington post, and, get this, the Wall Street Journal, found three months after the Florida brewhaha that under any measurement criteria, ie, hanging chad, dimpled chad, what have you, Gore won. May 25th, 2007 at 2:59 am Tend to agree with Rosie politically more than Elizabeth, but find myself rooting for Elizabeth because Rosie's such a bully and Joy's big mouth always backs her (Rosie) up. May 25th, 2007 at 9:14 am Hey, Elizabeth where is your uniform? Time to quit talking about your support of the troops and go fight the war you make claim to believe in. May 25th, 2007 at 8:07 pm What about the "this is the first time in history fire has melted steel". Why does she have to rely on someone else, especially someone she knows has a different "view" than her. Don't say something if you aren't going to stick with it. May 25th, 2007 at 11:35 pm Hey, Zinn Reader: Nice recap of Bush v Gore. Now, can you please do a detailed analysis of the 1960 election? And, don't forget to include the parts that feature Joe Kennedy, Frank Sinatra, Sam Giancana, Skinny D'Amato, and the horrific treatment of Sammy Davis Jr. May 26th, 2007 at 3:11 am I am shocked that CBS has chosen to fire Rosie O'Donald over the "cat fight" shown in this website video. It also appears that when Rosie asked Elizabeth a direct "yes or no" question she received no answer, but was the object of a angry barrage of verbiage, really aimed at Joy for the comments she'd made earlier. I recall hearing Rosie on many occasions remark that we need to be mindful of all the troops being injured and killed in Iraq (especially last month when the tainted pet food was killing cats and dogs and people seemed more upset than about the troops dying in Iraq). most were from Saudi Arabia - our "friends" who are ruled by a dictatorial "Prince" who rules absolutely through extreme oppression of everyone, expecially women. I am sad that actions taken by CBS and The View are, in effect, saying that it is ok to rant at Rosie because she is loud and rough and dares to express Liberal opinions. It may well be a misplaced defense of Elizabeth on the part of both the program and the network itself though, because Rosie (and Joy) are not the only ones tired of the death toll (both troops and Iraqi citizens) spawned by this war and this administration. for one, am tired of the uptight and (largely uninformed) views of Elizabeth, who seems to be an immature "spoiled brat." And, I am heartsick and weary of this war and our President.
