THE TOURNAMENTS PANAMERICAN JIU-JITSU CHAMPIONSHIP 2007 The tournament will take place on March 30th, 31st and April 1st in California State University Dominguez Hills, Carson - California. The PanAmerican Jiu-Jitsu Championship 2007 is realized by United States Jiu-Jitsu Federation. California State University, Dominguez Hills 1000 E Victoria Street Carson, California 90747 The athletes must be at the warm up area, according to their fighting schedule. The athlete only can enter in the fighing area when is called by the official. In case of victory the athlete must return to the warm up area, and remain there till the next fight.
Registration Check day: The athletes must make sure that their information is correct by checking the website on the registration list for their weight, belt, academy, age division, and name information. The IBJJF staff will be available at the Jiu Jitsu Pro Gear store on March 28 for the registration check day, from 11:00AM to 5:00PM. March 28 will be the last chance for any corrections on the registration information. On Thursday , March 29 the brackets will be available online at our website. After the sign in check day, no changes will be made and no refunds will be given. During the tournament, any mistakes on the brackets that were not correct previous to sign-in check day will lead to immediate disqualification . REFEREE COURSE On Thursday, March 29, prior to the PanAmerican Jiu-Jitsu Championship, the IBJJF will be giving a Referee course. br PANAMERICAN JIU-JITSU NO-GI CHAMPIONSHIP 2007 The first PanAmerican Jiu-Jitsu No-Gi championship 2007 will be held on Friday, March 30th, prior to the main event. This event will be separate from the gi tournament and points will be tallied separately for the academies as well. The points breakdown is as follows: First place- 9 points, Second place- 3 points, and Third place - 1 point. when the registration reaches this limit, no more registrations will be accepted. The belt division that the athletes registered in the GI tournament will correspond to the belt division that they must register into the NO-GI tournament. Each athlete will receive a No-GI kit wich has the value of U$60 sponsored by IBJJF . There will be 5 weight categories on the male division and will be separated in blue, purple, brown and black belt. On This event the points will be tallied separately from the main tournament. The points breakdown is as follows: First place- 9 points, Second place- 3 points, and Third place - 1 point. The event is for white belts only, MALE: ADULT or MASTER, and FEMALE: ADULT, and is intended to give budding competitors experience in the largest US tournament alongside many of the great athletes in sport jiu-jitsu. PANAMERICAN JIU-JITSU CHAMPIONSHIP 2007 DIVISIONS Junior 16/17 year-olds * Only bluebelts * Men only * 16 and 17 year-olds will compete in the same division * Athletes born on 1990 and 1991 are eligible to compete * Fight time: 5 minutes * There is no open class. Adults * The division is open for everyone, but athletes of other age divisions willing to compete here will not be allowed to fight in their own division (athletes can only enroll in one age division) * Fight time: bluebelts - 6 minutes; blackbelts -10 minutes Masters (30-35) * Athletes born between 1972 and 1977 * Fight time: Bluebelts 5 minutes * Purple/brown/blackbelts 6 minutes * Men only Seniors 1 (36-40) * Athletes born between 1967 and 1971. Before his/her first fight, the athlete will check his/her weight with the Gi. If the competitor does not make his/her weight,they will be immediately disqualified. Please make sure that you are in the correct weight division. You can not change divisions ,if you do not make your designated division. No changes will be accepted in the tournament day, no refund. All athletes should fight and weigh-in with tradicional weave fabric gi only (single, double or golden). Jiu-Jitsu no-gi tournament weigh ins : The weigh-in system is the same used in the regular gi competition. Before his/her first fight, the athlete will check his/her weight with the No-Gi kit uniform on. Depending on the number of athletes in the tournament, some classes may not have an absolute division. Before each fight, athletes will be asked to show their Ids to the officials.
