2008/3/28 [Politics/Foreign/MiddleEast/Iraq] UID:49589 Activity:nil | 3/27 What are they fighting about in Basra?
'The fighting in Basra, which has spread to parts of Baghdad, is not a
clash between good and evil or between a legitimate government and an
outlaw insurgency. Rather, as Anthony Cordesman, military analyst for
the Washington-based Center for Strategic and International Studies,
writes, it is "a power struggle" between rival "Shiite party mafias"

killings in Bagdad has decreased or not? IMHO, it is the decrease
of sectarian killings among Iraqis, not decrease in US troop casualties
that indicates the success of operation.
\_ The surge is still happening.
\_ Is there a scheduled end date for the surge, or does even

It's the only explanation for his efforts to destabilize
Iraq. When Iraq collapses Iran will dominate it politically,
economically, and militarily.

2006/11/7-8 [Politics/Foreign/MiddleEast/Iraq] UID:45211 Activity:kinda low | 11/7 This question is mostly for the supporter of the war and those
who oppose quick withdraw from Iraq.
One option which no one talked about is mobilizing entire freaking
nation for Iraq. Draft until we got 2.5 million pairs of boots,
ration supplies if absoultely nessarily, and blanket Iraq with an army
of 2.5-3million strong, pacify the country, and leave.

our barricades and abandon him on orders of the Iraqi PM. The
media is largely silent. John Kerry makes a dumb joke - SCANDAL!
JOKEGATE! APOLOGYGATE!
\_ I agree. but didn't the guy marry an iraqi? or he was an

"The problem was, how do you find the people on the blacklist? It's not
like you had their address and telephone number. The normal procedure
would be to go into a village and just grab someone and say, 'Where's
Nguyen so-and-so?' Half the time the people were so afraid they would
say anything. Then a Phoenix team would take the informant, put a

Bldg in SF demanding Israel out of Gaza. Not a bad showing, given
the cold and the sprinkling rain. --erikred
\_ They're too stupid to stay out of the rain. Just like they're too
stupid to understand what's going on in Gaza.
\_ The rain works to their benefit. "Anti-Israel protesters
