About Our Rating System With all the negative press from the idiotic mainstream media you might be thinking that Bully is Grand Theft Auto in Junior High. The funny thing is that that's as far from the truth as you can get as there is not a single drop of blood present in the over 40 hours of gameplay present in Rockstar's latest free-roaming epic. Built on the GTA engine, Bully puts you in the shoes of Jimmy Hopkins, a teen looking to make his way through life at the English private prep-school aptly named Bullworth Academy. While you might be thinking that Bully is probably smaller than any GTA game available due to its narrow focus, you'd actually be wrong. With several different areas to travel between that rival the size of areas in San Andreas, a ridiculous amount of unique NPCs, and a giant school grounds you'll spend many hours before you see every corner that Rockstar has created. And while San Andreas may have left some disillusioned over the lengthy travel times of many of its missions and Bully is no exception in some instances, things have been polished to the point where you'll rarely feel like travel is too long. Unfortunately though you can't jump head first into the world of Bullworth as the developers have seen fit to include a rather lengthy tutorial that takes around four hours to complete. It's a shame they shoved all this right at the beginning of the game as I can see many gamers being turned off and returning it before they get to the meat of the game. Thankfully though, once you finish the intro you'll be thrown into free-roaming mission mode that all GTA fans have come to know and love over the last few years. Need to get somewhere fast, well then grab a bike or even a skateboard. Need to get some extra cash, well then take up a paper route or even mow some lawns. Just like GTA you don't need to progress in the main storyline to have fun. You can even use your earnings and skills to train or even buy frivolous items just for the heck of it. And what do you know, the bulk of this portion of the game contains zero fighting and zero violence, what do you think about that Jack Thompson? I think my favorite activity outside of the main story was getting together with both girls and boys. You see the only controversy likely to have any basis in reality is the fact that you can kiss both girls and some boys. Well that and the fact that you don't need to go to school for too long to learn everything. Not only that but if you practice at it you can actually get HP back just by smooching.
