POLITICS White House Dismisses Third-Term Talk Wednesday, August 23, 2006 WASHINGTON -- A third term for President Bush? "Believe me, I think staff thinks that two are plenty,"White House deputy press secretary Dana Perino said Wednesday, suggesting people are being worn out by the demands of the job. Even Bush seemed taken aback when a supporter, Rockey Vaccarella, said he wished the president could have another term. Even if he wanted another term, Bush would be barred by the 22nd Amendment of the Constitution which says no person can be elected president more than twice. Vaccarella lost his home in New Orleans in Hurricane Katrina a year ago. "I don't think it was a secret that Rockey Vaccarella had been supportive of the federal effort and he had said supportive things about the President, as well,"Perino said.
