Big 3 automakers see sharp declines in sales. I guess multi-billion
dollar advertisements using famous and well liked American Idol
superstars like Taylor Hicks, "FORD THINK BOLD" with super hot blonde
women, and all that commercial blitz from Dr. Z saying "Chrysler is
not dumb American but smart German engineering", all shown on prime
time TV hasn't helped the companies that much.
\_ "Obviously, we didn't spend enough on advertising" -execs
\_ I used to work with a guy who was a long time GM employee. He
had a lot to say about the development -> production cycle that
pretty much guarantees they are always out of sync with what
buyers will want by the time the vehicles are in show rooms.
           \_ I don't know, particularly Chrysler's had a history _recently_
of getting concept cars -> production very, very fast.
\_ I don't know about the other 2, but Ford is totally out of sync
from what the market actually wants. Even GM is moving in the
right direction, slowly but they're getting there. I like the way
they turned around Cadillac and how they're doing it now with
Saturn. Ford's problem on the other hand is that they're not
going to bring anything fundamentally new to the market for a
long long while. Their biggest fuckup is the complete lack of
competitive compact models. The US-spec Focus is outdated, even
though every other market in the world, including Japan and
Russia, got the new Euro-spec Focus. They make plans to replace
the American Focus only around 2010. They also make plan to come
up with a competitor to Yaris, Aveo, and such in 2010-2011..
hello? Will Ford even exist then? The Lincoln division plans to
sell basically more expensive, more upscale Fords, etc. none
of which sounds like a "way forward".
\_ Ford is also Volvo, Jaguar, etc.
\_ Speaking of which Jaguar is a huge money loser and Ford
will probably end up offloading that division.
        \_ Heil Herr Dr. Z!
\_ No need for such empty insults--Ford was started by a bona fide
              Nazi.

\_ I always buy American cars. Corvettes and Vipers -- the way to
a trashy blonde Motley Crue groupie's heart. -proud American

12/9 I have what is likely a very basic (and possibly stupid) question.
Do the current financial troubles of the big 3 auto makers
just happen to coincide with the horrible economy we have,

        -competition with automobile

Automotive Big 3 automakers see sharp decline in sales Truck and sport utility vehicles lead fall; Honda, Toyota post increases Image: Auto dealership David Zalubowski / AP The high cost of gas is one possible reason car dealers aren't able to move inventories. DETROIT - For the first time last month, an American auto buyer was more likely to get behind the wheel of a new Toyota than a new Ford. But the shift seems to symbolize the recent stumbles of US automakers in the face of rising gas prices and changing views on fuel economy. and DaimlerChrysler AG's Chrysler Group, is heavily dependent on sales of high-margin sport utility vehicles and other trucks - products that have become less popular lately, as gas prices in most of the country are stuck around $3 a gallon. All three domestic producers saw double-digit sales declines in July, with the worst decreases in trucks. They blamed the drop on heavy incentives last summer that artificially elevated sales then. saw substantial increases, which they attributed to their reputations for fuel efficiency. That change happened despite the fact that Chrysler, alone among automakers, has revived the employee price promotion that fueled sales last year. Chrysler announced Tuesday that it would extend the discount program through August. Company officials said the promotion was helping, though not as much as last year, when all three domestic automakers were doing it and each benefited from the advertising of the others. Autodata Vice President David Lucas said it was the first time Toyota had sold more vehicles than Ford in a given month. Toyota spokesman Mike Michels cautioned not to read much into the numbers. "One month does not make any particular trend," he said. Jim Lentz, executive vice president of Toyota's US division, said market conditions were "playing to traditional Toyota strengths of fuel efficiency, strong passenger car offerings as well as our comprehensive hybrid lineup." Honda said its July sales rose 6 percent, with cars up 54 percent and trucks up 68 percent. The company said it was unable to keep up with demand for its small cars. Officials at Ford and GM said they had expected their sales to be way off because of last year's promotions. "What goes around comes around," said Ford sales analyst George Pipas. However, Pipas predicted the year-over-year comparison would be more even by December. Last year, sales fell off in the fall because of what the industry calls "payback," following a period of big discounts. Paul Taylor, chief economist of the National Automobile Dealers Association, also predicted sales would pick up in the fall. He said automakers would likely boost incentives in the coming months to clear out old inventory. This material may not be published, broadcast, rewritten or redistributed.

He used it to publish his series of 81 articles (between 1920 and 1922) on "the Jewish Question in America," which he called "the world's foremost problem." The Dearborn Independent was distributed nationwide to Ford dealer showrooms and was offered free of charge to the general public. He later published the articles as a four-volume set of books. At the Nuremberg Tribunal, Baldur Von Shirach, Hitler Youth Leader, said he had been influenced through reading these books. This volume reprints the articles from May 22 to October 2, 1920. This four-volume set is an important document in the history of anti-semiticism in America. See all my reviews This book is informative only to the degree that it shows clearly that highest ranks of influence and power reprobate diseased monsterous personalities can rule the United States. Ford in this book revealed his true self to be a loathesome filthy hatemongering parasite whose ideals encourage weak minds of the world to feast themselves on the fetted festering corpse of all consuming hate with the same ravenous mindless glee Adolf Hitler and his German NAZI's would years later. Henry Ford gave us the assembly line in auto production and the first truly affordable motor car and for that I and the world are thankful. Henry Ford was a Genius in the auto technology of his day and a good business man. However Henry Ford had a soul that would make fictional Ebenezzer Scrooge look like an arch angel by comparrison. This book like Hitler's Mein Kampf are the collective vile rantings of a pathetiic morally bankrupt demented and diseased mind. At his core being Henry Ford was a wholly unsavory character and reading this book proves my assertion so compellingly that no rebuttal is really needed. The International Jew: The World's Foremost Problem is a book that rightly should endure for reminders of the purest form of evil this book represnts is too rare these days. Henry Ford shows in his book just what cruelty lurks in the minds of even affluent genius which should serve to keep all good people of humane nature on constant guard. The lifetime of NAZI like hate Henry Ford invested in The International Jew: The World's Foremost Problem is a good close look directly in the face of the most repugnant evil, an experience no good person can ever allow themselves forget. Henry Ford's aweful book has earned its infamy for it is the raw unvarished naked face of abiding race hate in America laid plain that the whole world might see what lurks beneath the surface of so called enonomic genius. The International Jew: The World's Foremost Problem is Henry Ford's eternal shine to the most foul demons that when left unchecked infest the unguarded ignorant human soul rotting it from deep within. I give this book five stars not because it is fun, nice or in any way uplifting. I give The International Jew: The World's Foremost Problem by Henry Ford Sr. five stars because it is such a clear honest unflinching look into the core of a great inventor who despite his many talents was absolutely devoid of any trace of humanity whatsoever. Herny Ford Sr by writing The International Jew: The World's Foremost Problem ended life giving so little to enhance all humanity after having started life by wanting to give so much to the betterment of all. See all my reviews The book," The International Jew," a collection of articles, portents to present a scientific analysis of a problem, both the problem is stated and defined by the Author. The book is clearly aimed at an audience that neither requires, seeks, nor needs any substantiation of statements or claims made regardless of how devastating their effects may be on the affected. If these articles had been submitted to a scientific body for publication, they would have been rejected out-of-hand being devoid of any Bibliography or References, making it impossible to verify any of the statements. However, even without this reference material, the contradictions found in this text are so obvious that it is impossible to view it as a serious undertaking. wandered, the center of business seemed to go with them." Yet on pp 33-34 one finds: "Associated with Columbus in the voyage were at least five Jews. The astronomical instruments and maps which the navigators used were of Jewish origin." Of the surgeon and the physician only the first names are known. In fact, how and from whom was any of this information obtained? and the Navigational Instruments and Maps all made by Jews. Is one to believe that in all of Spain the only Surgeon to be found turned out to be a Jew? Is one to believe that in all of Spain the only Physician to be found also turned out to be a Jew? Is one to believe that in all of Spain the only Interpreter to be found turned out to be another Jew? And in all of Spain, makers of Navigational Instruments and Maps, all turned out to be Jews? Did the Surgeon sail with Columbus because he was planning to peddle surgical instruments to the ship's crew? Did the Physician come aboard to push cough syrup and band-aids at exorbitant prices, having captive consumers at his mercy? And the Interpreter, did he arrive with a truckload of dictionaries counting on making a huge profit from selling these books to the sailors who had money in their pockets and no place to spend it? Or would it be more reasonable to assume that, for a voyage of this gravity, Columbus picked the very best he could find. for business" turns out to be equally supremely gifted for Languages, Surgery, General Medicine, and the Manual Skills required to create navigational instruments and maps. In this book there are drawn constant comparisons between Jew and Gentile when no comparison on this basis is possible. Whether one considers a Jew a member of a specific race or a specific religion or both, a Gentile is neither: He is not the member of a specific race or the member of a specific religion and, obviously, he cannot belong to both of them. From the point-of-view of a Jew, a Gentile is anybody who is not a Jew. From a Mormon's point-of-view, anybody who is not a Mormon is a Gentile, which leads to the interesting and perhaps even amusing conclusion that from a Mormon's point of view, A JEW IS A GENTILE! Last, but by no means least, once it becomes clear that the "The International Jew" is based on "The Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion," the need for proving discrepancies disappears. "are fictitious minutes of meetings that never took place. Since a Theory based on an erroneous Hypothesis is an erroneous Theory, therefore, a book or series of articles, based on a fictitious account, consequently is itself a fictitious account of the 2nd order. One may ask, how is it possible that so many have taken these statements for GOSPEL. The only answer I have to offer is this: " There are none so blind, as those who do not wish to see!" There are none so deaf, as those who do not wish to hear! look up the word anti semitic, and one discovers that arabs are also " semitic" only people who are from the tribe of judah are jews ( different story) and the turkish europeans who converted to the religion are not remotely connected to ancient israel. also zionism is distinctly different f...
