Shortly afterwards another user posted a picture of his cat bristling at the image of Frankie on the monitor. I decided this was too much fun and advanced the concept as The Infinite Cat Project which is, simply, cats regarding cats regarding cats in an electronic milieu. If you like this web site then thank your lucky stars that the world is populated with cats, Macs, and people with wayyyy too much time on their hands.
the cats The thumbnail images for all the kitties on this site are arrayed in 25-cat groups for the convenience of those who wish to start elsewhere other than the begining or the end. BTW, if you don't see "Select a cat group" below it means you need to install the free Flash plug-in.
I was wandering my local Behemoth Hardware Store and saw these new fluorescent bulbs that claimed 60 watts of light for just 15 watts of power. In the past they were just too darned expensive for my taste but at $10 for a 6-pack I decided to try them out. They do, indeed, put out plenty of light and they don't get hot, just warm, which is ideal for small, hard-to-cool areas. They light immediately with no flickering and are full-spectrum so they don't cast that "cold" light so common with fluorescents. The better ones are guaranteed for 5 years of use, which ain't too shabby. The most important thing about these bulbs is their low power requirement. I've read that if everyone switched to these units it would be like taking 8 million cars off the road, which is quite an impressive number. I've yet to find an on-line source for these bulbs that beats the local store (once you factor in shipping) but I'll keep looking. For now, do your pocketbook and the environment a favor and give them a try.
lays bare all the facts in the case of the theft of the 2004 presidential elections in the latest edition of Rolling Stone magazine, and it's not a pretty picture.
Mad Dog Foxy Lady Foxy Lady - Cat #450 - The TICP Fine Featured Feline This is one of the delightfully strange submissions I've received here at the ICP and you'll understand why when you look at the larger version of the image.
Here's another wonderful way to share your favorite Infinite Cat with the world. It's new internet toy called "Frappr" which allows you to mark you place on the world map and share a picture and a shoutout with your friends.
Personally, I prefer one of these, the Omega Paw Self-Cleaning litter box. You simply roll it over once, sans cat, and organic material, or "Cat Squeezin's", is dumped neatly into a slide-out box. Pretty sweet, and it comes in several sizes for that special-sized kitty of yours.
This fabulous animated short, Freedom River, was made back in 1971 and features the voice of Orson Welles. Whether you're Red or Blue it has a surprisingly relevant message for every American.
com Tyger Tyger, a short film I just discovered a terrific short film called "Tyger", a mix of live-action bunraku puppetry, traditional animation, and lyrical digital effects. Click the link at left for the medium-sized version but be aware it logs in at 37mb.
com (Yes, that's how it's spelled) produce some of the most beautiful little Flash games you'll find on the internet, and this one features a brace of elegantly rendered felines. The object of the game is a little offbeat but you'll enjoy the retro soundtrack. Be sure and explore the site as there's suprises around every turn.
Arbuckle The comics page is full of strips that long ago outlived their usefullness. I can name a few, quite a few, but for now I'll focus on Garfield which ceased to be amusing, thoughtful, or inventive about twenty years ago.
The secret with this variant is that old Garfield gags have been redrawn but this time Garfield never speaks. This results in a remarkably poignant and funny strip about a sad and lonely man who has odd, one-sided conversations with his cat.
Many people have written in and bemoaned the fact that they don't have access to a digital camera and thus can't get their kitty on the ICP. Just use a normal, film-type camera and when you get your film developed have it saved to a CD, a very inexpensive process nowadays. Then choose the best picture off the disc and email a copy to me. Don't worry if your kitty pic is a few cats out of date because I often get simlutaneous submissions which require me to use an image editor to replace the image in the monitor.
I'm in the process of adding Google Adwords to this site as a means of generating a little cash flow to help keep the servers humming as the ICP gets well over a million page views a year. com links and I promise never to use those big, ugly, nauseating skyscraper banner ads.
"My Infinite Gratitude" The following is a list of everyone who has contributed monetarily in support of the Infinite Cat Project. In lieu of listing the names in any intelligent way I decided to post them alphabetically. It's not a perfect system, those of you of Polish descent get the shaft again, but at least it helps me keep the names straight. If I've missed your name or misspelled it, please let me know. The green colors indicate donations in excess of $10 while the single listing in orange is for one very exceptional cat lover. I thank you, the cats thank you, and my web host thanks you. org, K Orman, R Owens, J Pavlov, R Perry, C Phillips, H Pirani, C Plant, R Poletto, D Rakowski, R Redman, R Riitala, M Ryan, W Ryngwelski, D Sanders, M Schluter, H Sherwood-Taylor, J Sokel, S Somero, M Stabile, F Street, JP Thompson, D Thoms, G Toland, C Ullrich, J van Luyt, A Walls, J Weisenfeld, B Wilkinson, J Williams.
