5/18 On my Win7 machine, I've been using a PuTTY ssh session to soda as a

2/5 I like Adobe Flash. When written correctly, it scales along
with your browser size. It looks consistent on every single
browser. It is predictable. On the other hand, I'm not a big
fan of CSS/HTML, which for the most part, look wildly different
between browsers, and don't even work consistently or
correctly at times. So why do so many people (like Steve Jobs)

Usually I hate "stupid" ads like this, but man this is well done. Being a web developer, I can say that the real browsers act as those in this video do. well this was pretty stupid and this was not really good for little kids like 6 and under... yawn Posted 7 hours ago by sadaboutads * This really IS funny! This is entertaining, would get people's attention, get them talking, and generally brighten up what normally is dull, boring and unimaginitive TV commercial space. Posted 9 hours ago by MacleaySB * I'm actually glad this didn't win... As an inside joke among the Firefox crowd, it's mildly amusing, as an advertisement for Firefox to those who'vw never used the browser, it's majorly annoying likely to be off-putting. Put that on TV and every chav in the world will have that "Wheeeee!" Posted 15 hours ago by RAMONSALAS \'The Solution\' * lol Posted 17 hours ago by what * sorry guys, but it's shit... Posted 17 hours ago by mark * This is really, really awesome! Posted 18 hours ago by Philippe * LOL, now someone's going to make an ad just like this one, but with the PS3, Nintendo Wii, and Xbox 360 instead of the browsers. Posted 20 hours ago by mewfree * > "I havn't laughed so much since grandma died!" I've been using FF for 2 years on Linux, watched the flick 3 times, trying to work out what the point of it was and had to look through the comments to find out the answer. But then, I often have the same problem with TV commercials and often don't know what the product was even if I do remember the commercial ... Posted 22 hours ago by Malc * Twh W00tness its awesome Posted 1 day ago by qckdrw * Dang- I was hoping this would win. Posted 1 day ago by kevin nalty * Well the judges have spoken ladies and gentlemen. Top 3 were: 1) Daredevil 2) Wheee 3) Fox Fever What a joke. Posted 1 day ago by disappointed * Now that Nintendo Revolution has changed to Wii, do you have any idea how eeriely prophetic this ad is? I looked at the other videos and it doesn't even come close to this. One of them reminds me of a commercial for a memorial park *cough*imprv*cough*. Anyway, as a Firefox user, I don't really think I want Firefox to be popular. Posted 1 day ago by ripfre * haha great this is hilarious im gona link friends to it Posted 1 day ago by Joshua * Yes indeed funny shit ... fuck IE Posted 1 day ago by KOSKESH * LMFAOLOLOLOL HAHAHHAA I LOVED IT. Posted 1 day ago by Abadii * i love it :-D Posted 1 day ago by don * Can someone please shoot the guy who keeps posting "Bullshit" all over the place? Posted 2 days ago by Jaco * I teach web design, and now I finally have a visual response for that inevitable question: "Which browser should I use?" Posted 2 days ago by AnissaT * the people who are criticizing this just don't get it. and use simple allure to get people to BUY THINGS, not understand them completely. and while mozilla probably isn't a COMPLETE capitalist whore; they could still use a quicky add like this to lure the naive ie users into trying firefox. Posted 2 days ago by Rick Martinez * To c1t1z3n, who posted a day b4 me: You missed a language - Japanese. So I think that sentence says: I was shocked when I first saw it. looove love it Posted 2 days ago by Jelena * @Flaid: Thanks for explaining, and this is what I thought. I guess some people just don't think this is funny, as a few other posters pointed out. Oh and I've been using Firefox since the time it was called Phoenix, I never went "back to IE" :) Posted 2 days ago by Nicolas * I <3 this. Watched it three times - laughed every time - couldn't get sick of it :) Five stars from me! com text at the end should be black or more bold somehow - I barely noticed it the first time through. The silence when we get to firefox browser skews the fact (noted at the end) that all the browsers seem to be sharing this white room together. Perhaps a muted combination of all the other browser's "sounds" should be added to its frame instead of the silence. This may emphasize the silence firefox ellicits from its peers when it shouts "Shut up." It also would be neat if the fire that consumes the blue e came from offscreen... com * I thought that this ad was excellent in every way. ", "" or "w+e+b+y+tj y+a+ a+k+s+b+l+w+r+r+ b+w+tjq+h+" means; but obviously this ad is appealing to more cultures than any of the other ads have (i didn't notice comments like these anywhere else) - 10/5 stars Posted 3 days ago by c1t1z3n * Is that being sarcastic? This ad appeals almost only to the power user who already uses firefos and not to the moderate user who doesn't know there are any other web browsers but IE. "person who made this" Posted 3 days ago by niko * Very funny. While this is definately the funniest add submitted, I do not feel it has the strength and quality that one would expect for a commercial. It does not fit the mold, which is a major plus, and the concept is wonderful. People who use a computer and surf the web would recognise the logos immediately, so it should give them some idea as to what Firefox is. Posted 3 days ago by Daniel * Only two bureaucratic facts: 1 Netscape is based on Firefox. Posted 3 days ago by Carlos * For all you people that are putting this ad down because of the sound quality, or the fact that it "Dosen't even explain what Firefox is or what it does (in a whiny voice), you obviously have'nt been watching very many television commercials. Many of them don't tell you those things either, but the point is to get you interested. OK, a lil rough around the edges, but great execution, literally! I'm still wiping the tears from my eyes :) ROFLMFAO "I havn't laughed so much since grandma died!" Posted 4 days ago by jas * koreha hidoi5 Posted 4 days ago by san5 * Everytime I see this, I convulse into laughter. ", the genius of this add is that it contains many layers. The white background tells me this animator wants focus on the characters. Do we watch the Superbowl adds to be enlightend on a new prouct? Some will be confused and not recognise the icons, some will. Those that find it a mystery will visit the URL out of curiosity, outrage, or whatever response they feel. Sparking tons of comments here, and from what I have read, making computer users laugh, including myself and co-workers. As far as the copywrite issues, modifying an icon 10% makes it OK and the last time I checked none of these had eyes, mouths, toungues, or sounds. I have watched ALL of the other enteries and none come close to the requirements this contest has stated. T-shirt, "e" on the front "N" on the right sleeve, "compass" on the left sleeve, and "SHUT-UP" on the back. He has created a "Marketing Masterpiece" Posted 4 days ago by Jeffery * Video is really funny, but you'd have copyright issues to work out with permissions in contracts in order to bash the other companies like that. I think it's probably overall NOT for mainstream TV, but for others definitely. Posted 4 days ago by mj (CEO) * I absolutely adore this ad, but I think that it's downside is that you'll either love it or hate it. Unforunately, most of the people who 'hate' or don't get it are the target audience. It's one of those catchy, viral youtube favorites like the new VW commercials or that numa numa video. My dad- also a computer geek- saw it and started cracking up. My computer-illiterate mother, on the other hand, just blinked at it a few times and said "well that was stupid," before asking me to 'make the email thing load'. And, since people like her- people who don't use firefox, and possibly haven't heard of it- are the ones we want to reach, this ad obviously isn't the best choice. Posted 4 days ago by Nix * absolutley genious, this needs to be a real commercial. Very geekish, sounds like me when I've studied for exams for too long (me now). Posted 4 days ago by Catou * Man, this is so funny it brings a tear of joy/laughter to my eye everytime I watch this. Yeah, audio work could be improved, but seeing the 'e' at the end makes up for it. Posted 4 days ago by Mike * More of an inside joke and "homage" by/for current FF users. Certainly not an ad to encourage someone new to take a look, which is the whole point of the contest. it's hug...
