3/24 Category: 8 letter words/phrases using only letters A-F.
        \_ fadedabe -abe
        \_ deadbabe, fadedabe -abe
\_ The best I can get is defaced, but that's only 7.
\_ egrep. btw, using the stock freebsd dict/words, there are 11 6-
letter words (includeing efface and deface) that meet the
           requirement, and 0 7- or 8-letter words.
                \_ Fabaceae?
\_ cafebabe, deadbeef. Is 0 allowed too?
\_ 0 should be allowed. then you have cafef00d and deadc0ed as well
             \_ b00bbabe
               \_ b00b1e5 !!!
               \_ b00bcafe, b00bfed, badb00b5, fabb00b, fee1b00b... </beavis>
        \_ I went through a 100K word dictionary, and I couldn't find any
words that matched [a-fo]{8}. [a-foi]{8}, however, yielded
           codified (C0D1F1ED). Eh.
\_ Where do you get this dictionary?
              \_ http://wordlist.sourceforge.net
        \_ facefeed (fellatio).
        \_ cabba9e5
        \_ BADA55E5
           \_ Isn't the category A-F only?
\_ The most likely reason someone would state that constraint is
that they're looking for words you can make out of 32-bit hex

Kevin's Word List Page This page contains links to various Word Lists and related information. News August 10, 2004 A new version of SCOWL, VarCon and, Alt12Dicts is now available. January 27, 2003 A new version of the offical 12Dicts package is now available. It differs from previous versions by containing three additional lists which are not derived from the "classic" 2dicts sources. Changes to the classic lists are limited to error corrections. SCOWL SCOWL (Spell Checker Oriented Word Lists) is a collection of word lists split up in various sizes, and other categories, intended to be suitable for use in spell checkers. However, I am sure it will have numerous other uses as well. release notes & changelog) AGID AGID is an Automatically Generated Inflection Database from an insanely large word list. My goal is for the non-questionable entries to be 100% accurate. release notes & changelog) VarCon VarCon (Variant Conversion Info) contains tables to convert between American, British (both "ise" and "ize" spellings), and Canadian spellings and vocabulary as well as well as a table listing the equivalent forms of other variants. release notes & changelog) Official 12Dicts Package 12dicts is a collection of English word lists. It differs in several important ways from most of the other free word lists you can download. If you're looking for myriads of archaic, scientific or computer jargon words, you should look elsewhere. Because each list has different characteristics, I do not recommend combining them, except as noted below. Originally, 12dicts was composed of lists derived from a specific set of 12 sour ce dictionaries. In addition to these "classic" lists, 12dicts now includes lists derived from other sources. It would perhaps be appropriate to rename 12dicts to someth ing more generic, such as BAWL (Beale's Assorted Word Lists), but I have not done so in order to preserve continuity.
