2/10 Holy crap! I'm using Opera 9 TP 2. I hovered over one of my tabs, and
a mini-preview of the page for that tap popped up. Neato!
\_ As far as I could tell Opera doesn't support FF style extensions or
anything similar. I'm addicted to extensions now. Nothing else
           matters.
           \_ http://userjs.org
\_ Opera UserJS == Firefox Greasemonkey, AFAICT. That's just
one extension. You can do _way_ more with Extensions than
what you can do with just UserJS.
                 \_ For example, see http://codecamp.de/pwdhashforopera

5/18 On my Win7 machine, I've been using a PuTTY ssh session to soda as a
proxy for my FireFox to bypass my company's OpenDNS when I visit
http://tv.yahoo.com and so on. It has been working fine for a long while.
However, in the past couple weeks or so, my FireFox would either take
several minutes to load the page, or failes to load it after several
minutes. I haven't changed any settings on my Win7 machine. Rebooting

4/19 My Firefox 3.6.28 pops up a Software Update box that reads "Your
version of Firefox will soon be vulnerable to online attacks." Are
they planning to turn off some security feature in my version of
        Firefox?
\_ Not as such, no, but they're no longer developing this version,
so if a 3.6.x-targeted hack shows up, you're not going to get

2/5 How is Firefox on version 10, while I still have 3.6 installed.
I wait for the X.1 versions and they never come out.
\_ I'm also on 3.6.26. It claims that versions 4 - 10 are all faster
than 3.6.x, but do they use more memory? Thx.
\_ Newer Firefox versions use less memory too:

9/13 Blah blah android blah, ok other than the bootjack stomp of the

Android TCL scripting framework that was used for automating
and controlling desktop apps (like mozilla for example). Thx.

2/18 Why is there now Firefox 3.5.8 when there was already 3.6 a month ago?
\_ Why is there Windows XP SP3 when there was already Vista?
Generally companies manage patches for at least two levels of
           product. -tom
\_ I see. So Fx 3.6 is more like a new version than an update to
              3.5.x. --- OP

2/5 I like Adobe Flash. When written correctly, it scales along
with your browser size. It looks consistent on every single
browser. It is predictable. On the other hand, I'm not a big
fan of CSS/HTML, which for the most part, look wildly different
between browsers, and don't even work consistently or
correctly at times. So why do so many people (like Steve Jobs)

Contact /* * PwdHash for Opera 10 (2005-09-30) * Copyright 2005 by Patrick Schmidt * * * A User JavaScript implementation of PwdHash for use in Opera, reusing * existing code from Remote PwdHash as libraries (for domain extraction and * the actual password hashing). So any * comments on whether and how it works with different versions of Opera * would be helpful. html * * * Requirements: ************************************************************ * * In order to use User JavaScripts (like this one) you need Opera 8 or later. I * suggest somewhere within your Opera folder, eg: * * <YourOperaFolder>\userjs\PwdHash\ * * Now you have to open Opera's Preferences dialog and select the Advanced * tab. At the bottom of the dialog is a text field labeled * 'My JavaScript files'. Here you have to enter the path to those JavaScript * files. You should enter an absolute path because relative paths won't * always work, eg when you start Opera by double clicking an html file. To activate the hashing you either * have to prepend your password with '@@' (two ats) or press F6 (instead of * F2) while the password field is focused. When hashing is activated the * background of the password field will turn to a very bright yellow and * a yellow hash sign will appear at the bottom right of the field. Once * you leave the password field or press enter to submit the form the password * will be hashed. This is indicated by a bright green background and a green * hash sign in the field. So you don't have to meddle with your * keyboard shortcuts. This is because onSubmit events are processed * AFTER that dialog. And as far as I know there is no other way to catch * this case. A workaround for this (luckily rare) case is to unfocus the * password field, ie clicking anywhere outside the password field (eg * the login button) or pressing tab. But of course you still have the option to use Remote PwdHash. As the * images aren't very big (1,13KB altogether) I'm somewhat confident that * this won't get my available transfer volume into too much trouble. If you do * you have to edit the associated variables to reflect their new location * (see 'Customization' section).

Screenshot of Firefox showing the Google homepage in the foreground, with a background tab being previewed showing the Mozilla homepage Also check out the options available. Go to the Tools -> Extensions menu, click on the Tab Preview entry, and click the Options button. This is implemented in Firefox 15 Please note that if you build your own Firefox from source, you'll need to have --enable-canvas in your build configuration. You can check to see if this is the case by typing about:buildconfig into the URL bar. If you see an empty gray box instead of a preview, this is probably the case.
