WatchingInAmazement FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE CONTACT: Will Adams December 12, 2005 Tancredo: 51 Terrorist Suspects Crossed Border Illegally Joint Terrorism Taskforces Report 51 Persons Arrested on Terrorism-Relate d Charges in Last Year WASHINGTON, DC Congressman Tom Tancredo (R-CO) today revealed figures which show that since October, 2004, 51 persons who have crossed into t he US illegally were arrested on suspicion of terrorism. The figures, part of a Department of Homeland Security response to a inquiry by the C ongressman, document the national security risk our porous borders pose on the eve of Congress first attempt to rewrite immigration law in near ly a decade. Federal law enforcement coordinates its terrorism efforts through Joint Terrorism Task Forces (JTTFs), which include officials from the Justice and Homeland Security Departments. Since October, 2004, JTTFs have kept track of arrested terrorist suspects who are in the US illegally. The JTTF document shows 51 persons were arrested who had entered without i nspection into the US from countries such as Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, Egy pt, Syria and Pakistan. If this isnt a wake-up call to our lax border security, I dont know wh at is, said Tancredo. What scares me is not this list from federal law enforcementafter all, weve already caught those terrorists. What scar es me is the potentially hundreds of terrorists who make their way throu gh our porous borders each year and go undetected. The JTTF document shows that the suspected illegal alien terrorists were arrested on a wide variety of charges from smuggling weapons into the U S to illegally wiring large sums of money into the country. Regardless of the particular charge, each illegal alien was flagged by a JTTF becau se of his or her suspected ties to terrorism. This week, the House is scheduled to complete a bill to strengthen our b order security and enforce immigration laws throughout the country. Judg ing by these terrorism figures, Congress is not acting a moment too soon , said Tancredo. Knowing what we know now, what could Congress say if a terrorist attack occurred that secure borders would have prevented? We ve relied on our good fortune for too longwe must protect Americans by stopping terrorist before they get here.

View Replies To: WatchingInAmazement How many come in through Canada? I believe the Government of Canada does not take terrorism seriously and encourages anti-American sentiments.
View Replies To: sono 51 out of how many who entered illegally? The usual ratio is for every illegal the Border Patrol catches 3 or 4 mak e it successfully through and past the border. One would expect terroris ts to be better financed then the average illegal and to be able to pay for the deluxe smuggling service so perhaps even more of them would make it through successfully. But just assuming the standard success ration 51 caught should translate to about 153 to 204 terrorists roaming free in America. It only took 19 for 9/11 so 150 ought to be able to cause quite a bit of damage.
View Replies To: ConsentofGoverned When does Presidential non action on a secure border = impeachment? AFTER the terror attack that occurs because of the lack of national security.

Los Angeles or New York made inhabitable for 5+ y ears by a dirty bomb is a small price to pay for Tyson Chicken, the Rest aurant lobby and scumbag construction contractors benefiting from illega l workers "doing jobs Americans don't want to do" for a slave wage.

Czar, I know you've already been pinged, but I thought you or BQ might ha ve knowledge concerning other links/pics regarding items found (with Ara bic language) near the border and statements recently made by other Repr esentatives/law enforcement concerning arrests of terrorists, etc.

One of the places where our WOT has had some successes has been in freezing their funds. I think that's part of the reason why the jihadists are hanging out in Iraq ins tead of coming here.
we have no idea how many others have come, illegally, through the border. BTW, how many bombs is needed to kill potentially THOUSANDS of innocent A mericans? How many more thousands of innocent American lives at risk of being murde red by terrorists is acceptable to you?
View Replies To: WatchingInAmazement Our government leaders have evidently decided that we can accept massive terrorist attacks as long as they don't occurr too often. The border rem ains open and immigration from terrorist states continues.
