whirlygirl AG is hoping to boost measure in the House By Raphael Lewis, Globe Staff | November 1, 2005 Attorney General Thomas F Reilly said yesterday he will lobby Massachuse tts legislators this week to pass a bill allowing the children of illega l immigrants to pay in-state tuition, saying that ''all kids who graduat e from Massachusetts high schools should be treated equally."
Governor, Kerry Healey, excoriated AG Reilly during an impromptu debate on Boston's talk station WRKO. While I'm delighted to hear that the outrage here in Ma ssachusetts is cutting across party lines, I can't believe that we have an Attorney General doesn't "feel" it's right to enforce the law!

View Replies To: whirlygirl ''all kids who graduate from Massachusetts high schools should be treated equally." Will that include the children of a Belgian, a Brit and a Hun garian that teach at Harvard? This person shoul d be dismissed from the job just for the lack of intelligence.
View Replies To: whirlygirl Any Mass residents need to slap this one down asap. The same thing manage d to be slipped into some bill in KS. We have a lawsuit filed by other o ut-of-state students as unfair to US citizens. KS judge threw out the suit as having no standing in KS Courts. I'm sure that there will b e appeals but very expensive to do and who knows when and/or where it wi ll wind up.
He's catering to a constituency who can't even vote fo r him. He couldn't offer one substantial point beyond our "lack of compa ssion." I've got to get tinted windows in my ca r, because I spent my entire drive on the expressway this morning scream ing at my radio.
View Replies To: whirlygirl He had nothing to say to her except call her "mean". I really think he di dn't expect to be so broadly attacked about this and he sounded shaken. He can expect this to haunt him through the rest of the campaign.
View Replies To: Andy'smom He had nothing to say to her except call her "mean". Since there are no good arguments to support illegal immigration, the ill egal immigration cheerleaders can only resort to lies, name-calling, and waving the Race Card in order to support their position.
View Replies To: whirlygirl I'm going to pull my hair out living in this state. I used to love Boston's ethnic restaur ants fueled by immigration legal and illegal.
View Replies To: whirlygirl Call his office and ask what other laws he thinks are OK to break. If the government won't enforce the immigration laws why should it enforce any ? If the government's going to use the excuse that there are just to many i llegals to roundup, what will they do when large numbers American people catch on and decide not to pay taxes?
