9/23 When I was younger I'd put Oxy-10 on my zits and they'd go away. But now most of my zits seem to come from deep inside the skin and Oxy-10 doesn't seem to work as well. Do other fancier topo creams work better? Spare me the diet part, I DO eat as much unprocessed food as possible, diet, exercise, etc. \_ http://csua.com/Health/Skin \_ Just out of curiosity, do you shave with a blade everyday? \_ No. Actually places I don't shave rarely get zits. -op \_ so places you do shave with a blade get zits ? \_ yer blade is unsterile \_ Don't shave against the grain of your hair. They sound like shaving bumps. Do you have curly hair? \_ No. Actually places I DO shave rarely get zits. [sorry I meant to say the above, old line deleted] -op \_ Ok, that matches my experience. I was just curious. You probably don't want to start shaving your forehead. :P (Or where ever said zits are appearing) It suggests an exfoliating wash might help though. By the way the car asshole overwrote this post. \_ Dear helpful Mormon dude with a hot wife and cute children, I just bought St. Ive's exfoliator and exfoliated my face for the first time in my entire life, and HOLY SHIT my face hurts so much, it's like someone sanded my face with sandpaper. Is this actually normal? -op \_ Hi, the places I shave don't get zits. However, I'm a highly evolved East Asian and the percentage of my face that needs to be shaved is very small anyways, hence the probability of zits on my mustache is very small. In fact the percentage of my face that needs to be shaved is close to 1/3-1/4 of typical white men who still seem to have many primitive ape features. So I don't know what you're getting at but I don't think shaving and exfoliating actually does anything significant. \_ why is the size of the area significant? you still have the "ape features" in question. just because you have a small dick doesn't mean you're not a man. \_ No, you're not highly evolved. You're a most intelligently designed East Asian. In fact I just confirmed it with The Lord over lunch. \_ Since you probably only shave your wimpy moustache once a week, you won't get the desireable exfoliating effects. \_ THANK YOU! I'm going to buy exfoliators today. What is a good brand? Thanks. \_ Uhh... I don't know. I just use what my wife buys. Anyone else? \_ Obviously, whatever she buys works well for you, and may work for me. I need to find out. Can you please email her? Better yet, can you give me her phone number? And is she hot? \_ Dude, the guy was trying to help out and you want to hit on his wife? I use L'Oreal's facial wash with beads, works quite nice. Look for the orange label. \_ der ma tolo gist \_ For me, I tend to break out whenever I have to use those liquid/ facial soap(including Neutrogena.) I just stick with using my bar soap and don't have any dry skin problems. \_ I'm not going to defend the Asian man for trying to assert his racial superiority but I just want to point out that in my country it is common to see teachers joking that the white men have yet fully evolved. They say things like when white men don't shave, they look very much like apes. And among other things, they say things like they're very horny, use looks and charm to deceive, act like barbarians, are stubborn, self righteous, resort to force when things don't go their way, etc. While much progress has been made on both sides in the past few decades in debunking this silly stereotype, your great President has once again revived the white ape stereotype. He seems to have all of the attributes I mentioned above. \_ Bill Clinton definitely fits in the "very horny" category \_ Aren't "horny" and "use looks and charm to deceive" true for men in all races? \_ No, because white people are particularly good looking. (Not my argument, I just hear this a lot in Korea) \_ Well, in most Asian countries, they either love whities, or they really really really hate them. Obviously, you married the former. \_ Which country did you come from? I was born and raised in Hong Kong until 19, and I've never heard any of my teachers saying such things. Although I've heard other people saying these in casual occasion. \_ Wait, if white men look like apes, and use looks to decieve, does that mean asians are attracted to apes!?!??? \_ HAHA! :-) \_ You don't think our Ape in Command is sexy? |

He seems to have all of the attributes I mentioned above. I was born and raised in Hong Kong until 19, and I've never heard any of my teachers saying such things. Although I've heard other people saying these in casual occasion. Since it wasn't particularly bothering me, I just ignored it. It's still not particularly bothering me, but I can feel it when I put pressure on the exact spot of the splinter. Since it's been almost 2 months, does that mean that it's moved deeper into my skin and will be difficult and/or painful to remove? Is it advisable or silly to go to the doctor, have them numb it, and then remove it? Minor risk of infection and finger falling off--be a real man and disregard. they'll prob just take care of it in the office in like 5 minutes. if not, dont worry unless it gets infected discolored painful whatever. Their example of bad behavior sounds completely normal to me. More to the point, I find myself thinking that people who can't distill the essence from the blather are just as bad as the porcupines themselves. After 6-12 months she had it biopsied and it was a tumor of one of the glands. She had it removed while under general anesthesia, didn't need to take chemo, and is fine today. Also, try to avoid touching your face with your hands ... I find that I had a big reduction after eliminating habits like leaning my head on my hand. It's not to harsh at all, but it's very effective (after about 6 weeks though of course). If your acne is more than just mild, you should get antibiotics; if it's super bad, bust out the big guns and get Accutane. I eat healthy food with a lot of grains and fiber, and I exercise at least once a week. Acne can come and go at any age, so just go see a doctor for any of those previously mentioned treatments. In my experience the biggest diminishers were: Getting to around age 20, and washing my face daily. This is a homeopathic remedy people have had alot of success with. In general, antibiotics should be avoided unless absolutely neccessary, as their overuse decreases their effectiveness over time. I think anti-bacterial soap should be banned from general use. Just in case you're not being deliberately obtuse, anti-bacterial soap has nothing to do with antibiotics. Are you familiar with the concepts of natural selection and the process by which bacteria become resistant to antibiotics? But overuse of antibacterial agents like triclosan also causes "superbugs", just like overuse of antibiotics. If you keep exposing bacteria to nasty stuff they'll eventually work out a way to live with it. Or is it that you believe God wouldn't allow such a thing to happen? bacteria can't live in boiling water or alcohol or bleach, despite thousands of years of using this "nasty stuff" to kill bacteria. Antibiotic-resistant strains of bacteria are rampant due to overuse of antibiotics. Just wait and see how much fun we'll have when an antibiotic resistant chlamydia organism gets out into the wild. Triclosan is weak enough that it is safe enough for humans. You really don't want to be dousing your hands in bleach every time you use the bathroom do you? Okay, I've met some OCD victims that might try it, but really. org/u/8kl \_ I guess some people wait until someone's almost dead before calling emergency services. Reminds me of the case of that guy whose head was rotting away and maggots were crawling on his brain and stuff. Who fans, forgot to specify that you were only interested in Drs. Who, and then deleted the postings that were relevant to the question but not to your ambiguous intentions? If you have insurance or medical problems I'm here for you for any type of intestine surgery rectal rebuilding relocated saliva glands... StoryID=20031006-113325-5591r \_ Clearly an evil Bushco Conspiracy(tm)! With 130k dudes walking around in the heat in full battle gear downing MREs theres going to be some bad things happening to some people. It has nothing to do with the bush administration/politics. It's the motd and it's got something to do with the troops so I'm just getting to the point right away. I went t'a drug sto'e and saw products labeled "70% edyl alcohol", "70% isopropyl alcohol" and "91% isopropyl alcohol". ah' plum wants' sump'n t'wipe da damn skin befo'e some needle injecshun. I went to a drug store and saw products labeled "70% ethyl alcohol", "70% isopropyl alcohol" and "91% isopropyl alcohol". I just want something to wipe the skin before a needle injection. Muscle weighs more than fat, I could be losing fat but I doubt that's happening. what else could account for the fact that I'm getting stronger and bulkier while total body weight remains the same? I just thought there was a generic explanation for something like this. As long as I'm getting stronger and bulkier I have no complains. Since I stopped eating meat my workout has gotten a lot more effective. I don't have to waste energy sweating off the fat and cholesterol. htm \_ I have a friend with 7% body fat and his doctor told him it is too low and bad for his skin. When you become a meathead your muscles also take up more blood flow, decreasing the blood your brains gets. Your brain grows smaller, hence weight (and intelligence) loss. Is department store eyeliner significantly better than drug store eyeliner? i'd suggest starting with the cheap stuff and then if you have a problem with it staying put, move up to the better quality ones. tom stopped using eyeliner ever since the surgery, It runs too easily during any meg ryan film. I'm covered by Kaiser, and when I call to make an appointment with a doctor, they gave me a nurse practitioner instead. An MD is a BA with a four year professional degree (MD) The MD then gets at least three years of professional apprenticeship (residency). An NP is pretty limited in what s/he can do, usually to prescribing the 100 most common drugs and simple procedures. If you just have a chest cold or need the pill, see an NP. Is that how Kaiser keeps it costs down, by providing NP's instead of MD's for non-serious problems? Last time I had sustained coughing I ended up seeing an NP. This time I want to make an appt for physical and they also give me an NP. Of course, school isn't everything, so the quality of care you recieve depends on the individuals competence and experience more than on what letters they put after their name. That said, I'm going to make an unsolicited comment about Kaiser. Kaiser is both an HMO as well as an insurance provider, which is quite a big conflict of interest. Doctors there are restricted in the tests they can administer and the procedures they recommend -- these restrictions are based on cost (Kaiser wants to keep costs down as a provider). These are the same doctors that elsewhere, would be allowed to give you more ... |
