Tuesday, September 20, 2005 invasion i'm on this kick right now about eating only veggies and fruits for lunch . i noticed that when i eat bread or pasta as part of my mi d-day meal, i am often tired and sluggish for the rest of the day. anyway, so right now i am eating a tomato and mozzarella salad from TJ's. he came friday night with his big duffle bag of clothes, shoes, and hair product (ie, a big ass jar of gel). al though he was sick, P was a trooper and accompanied me to Bookworm Girl' s birthday party. rather it was a combination of boring people and not enough alcohol. somehow i managed to drink too mu ch anyway and couldn't drive even though i was the DD. on saturday, we went to inland invasion with Faux Asian Girl. although it was an all-day concert out in BFE, i made all of us go at 10 in the mor ning just so i can be sure i made it to Bloc Party's set at 12:40. last year, i bought the X tickets to inland invasion 4 for his birthday. i thought shit, if he de cides not to go then i must be cursed or something. he proved to be as awesome as ever and went despite his stuffy nose and sore throa t anyway, inland invasion 5 was cool but it will definitely be my last.
saturday really took a toll on both of us because on sunday, we both slep t in. he got up once to eat the soup i made him and then went back to sleep. hey, thanks to everyone (BOTH old and new readers) who commented on the l ast 2 posts. i don't always respond personally to every comment, but kno w that i read and appreciate each one.
after the day of the dish, he just stopped ALL communication with me. aft er a week of silence from both of us (which i mistook for "cooling off") , i tried to call him on his cell. next, i tried to call his land line but he had his family lie for him and say he wasn't home. a couple of days like that and i finally got it and stopped. to add insul t to injury, i found out that while i was in turmoil, he was off snowboa rding with his cousins. let me tell you, though, it was the BEST DAMN THING that boy EVER did for me.
so af ter her morning obligations were over, she drove 40 miles south to see h er boyfriend. the sad fact was that he had cancelled the last 3 times he had promised to come see her. not wanting to make it 4 times, she decid ed to go to him rather than wait for him to come to her. when she arrived at his place, the boy was busy trying to install a satel ite dish on his roof. so the girl waited because she had become good at waiting. the boy was having a har d time installing that stubborn dish. three hours later, the couple still had not spent any time together and i t was now dinner time. the girl persuaded the boy to take a break to go have dinner with her because she was hungry and growing weary of waiting . during dinner, the boy's phone kept ringing and he kept answering it. the girl was having a hard time swallowing her food because of the large lu mp that was growing in her throat. finally when she could not hold it in anymore, the girl started to cry softly. the boy said he was sorry but he had to attend to the dish. she said she understood that having cable was more important to him than having a girlfriend. he did not know how to comfort the girl so he di d nothing at all. however, the girl was so angry by this time that she told the boy not to talk to her. the boy kept his promise and did not to talk to the girl...
sudd enly i am back to my own apartment again and back to harsh reality. today i was on campus where i learned that i had to give the school back over $2000 because i was OVER-REWARDED again. then i came home and discovered a second bill from the hospital where i went to the ER. shouldn't his servic es have already been included in the ER services? in other news, i spent the whole day in the computer lab working on my di ssertation. the thought of not graduating this year was too much for me. i'm 28 and i've been in school since age 5 that's a whole lotta education. he is super overwhelmed at his new job so it was pret ty much stress induced. whenever i talk to him, he keeps saying how much he misses me and how excited he is to see me on friday. everything is kinda working out right now with the juggling.
his roommate is out of town so we had th e place to ourselves last night to play house. i took the chicken out of the freezer to tha w in a bath of warm water. T came home an hour later and we went about c ooking dinner together. he marinated the chicken while i washed and cho pped the vegetables. there was a little mishap with him having t o do a do-over when mixing the ingredients for the sesame sauce. after dinner, we headed out to buy various things (eg, tubberware so he can have left-overs for lunch tomorrow and dessert). somehow we ended up in the tight aisles of the 99 cent store picking out potholders and duct tape. w e are in our sweats at the freakin' 99 cent store buying shit on a tuesd ay night. a very differnt response than what i would have anticipated from a guy who had made it clear from the beginning th at he wanted nothing to do with being domesticated.
LUNCH: ceasar salad from Trader Joe's, bag of baby carrots, 1 banana, 1 p lum, and some terra chips. i haven't grown particular attached to any of the other interns here yet. it reminds me of my years at a particular christian university in a certain rich area of LA (city starts with the letter M) imagine being among 20 white girls who get range rovers for their birthda ys and daddy's credit card to pay rent with when you're just a vietnames e girl from a working class family who drives a corolla. after work today, i am heading over to T's place where we will play "hous e" we are going grocery shopping then cooking dinner together later. with this new internship, i am putting almost 400 miles on my car every week.
speaking of meds, i have been illegally taking some of T's prescription c ough syrup with codeine. it knocks me out so well, i do n't even know if i cough or not during the night. it means you are comfortable enough with me to do that." i think the move and the consequent distance from me and his famil y have made T feel homesick or something. yesterday he told me that he w as "madly in love" with me. in an effort to do something other than my dissertation tonight, i spent almost an hour ironing clothes for work.
i just found this great piece of fr amed art at marshalls for $8 (regular price: $30) that's going in my new office. another exciting thing that happened this past week was that i discovered a gas leak in my car. i actually knew about it for about 2 weeks now bu t chose to ignore it and play ignorant so i can go on my mini vacation. turns out my gas tank wa s totally rusted on the inside due to some undercarriage damage i did to the car while driving. must have been that utility ladder i ran over on the fuckin' 605 freeway like a year ago.
i can't remember if i mentioned this or not but T moved to the westside t o be closer to work. good for him because it cuts his commute to work do wn to 20 min but bad for me because now he's 45 min away from where i li ve. this week has been a whirlwind of shopping and moving around furnitu re as we go about making his new living space liveable and girlfriend ap proved. after 3 months of shelping around th e house and hanging out with me every chance he gets, P will finally be a 9 to 5 working stiff like everyone else. this dream job also allows hi m to continue living where he lives. some of the other positions he applied for were in my neck of t he woods. i was getting a little antsy thinking he might have to live wi th me until he found his own place out here. that would have totally cra mped my style, ya know what i mean? this having 2 boyfriends thing is beginning to tire me out! so much that twice i almost slipped and gave myself away.
picture taken while on the T heading inbound fro m Quincy. mind you, her tail went all the way down her back to her butt! no offense but you Bostonians also have whac k ass taste in shoes. we took the T to South Station where we bought a 3-day vis itor's pass.
next stop was Downtown Crossing where we shopped at Filene's Basement and H&M, th...
