9/7 Awesome, London's mayor thinks the bombers families should be
allowed to attend the national memorial service for the victims.
        http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/london/4220836.stm
\_ I think it's a good gesture. Or shall the sins of the father be
visited upon the son, and his son, and further unto 5 generations?
           \_ Ob affirmative action.
\_ It would be a nice gesture if the victim's families invited
them (highly unlikely), not the frinkin' mayor. Inviting
the murder's family to the victim's funeral is asking for
              trouble.
\_ True, but it's suicide 'victims' too.

5/8 Hello everyone! This is Josh Hawn, CSUA Tech VP for Spring 2012.
About 2 weeks ago, someone brought to my attention that our script
        to periodically merge /etc/motd.public into /etc/motd wasn't
running. When I looked into it, the cron daemon was running, but
there hadn't been any root activity in the log since April 7th. I
looked into it for a while, but got lost in other things I was

\_ Thanks for all your work keeping the machines running! It's
been awesome having soda actually working again.

Printable version 'Don't turn away' bomber families Ken Livingstone Mr Livingstone said it would be offensive to turn people away Families of the 7 July suicide bombers should be allowed to attend the na tional memorial service for the victims, according to London's mayor. Ken Livingstone said they should not be turned away from the 1 November m ass at St Paul's Cathedral for the 52 victims. The event is billed as a service for those who died and a tribute to poli ce, firefighters and paramedics. Church leaders would like the bombers' families to attend but only with a pproval from the bereaved and injured. Speaking at his weekly press conference at City Hall, Mr Livingstone said : "They have to decide if they want to come and share the grief of Londo ners and celebrate the lives of those that were killed on the day. More anger "It would, I think, be particularly offensive to turn people away." Members of the Royal Family, senior politicians and leaders from differen t faiths are set to attend. Jack Nicholls, Bishop of Sheffield, said: "The families should be consult ed on such an issue. "If such a suggestion were to bring more anger between communities it wou ld not be a risk worth taking. You wouldn't invite a murderer's family to the victim's funeral Tory member of the London Assembly Brian Coleman "In an ideal situation it would be good for all to be able to express the ir grief and sorrow together and begin to look forward to building a bet ter future where Muslim and Christian and people of any faith or none co uld live together in harmony." Brian Coleman, the Tory deputy chairman of the London Assembly, labelled the idea of bombers' families attending as "political correctness gone m ad", adding: "You wouldn't invite a murderer's family to the victim's fu neral." Shehzad Tanweer, 22, and Germaine Lindsay, 19, and Mohammad Sidique Khan, 30, detonated their bombs on Tube trains almost simultaneously at 0850 BST on 7 July. Hasib Hussain, 18, blew up the Number 30 bus at Tavistock Square shortly afterwards at 0947 BST.
