A qui ck search of the billionaire investor's name yields expendable tomes suc h as Buffettology--a look at investment techniques, and some material fo r the timorous post-prandial speaker: Warren Buffett Speaks--Wit and Wis dom from the World's Greatest Investor. But come back in a week's time, and the true Buffett aficionado will find more bangs for his buck. Meg Whitman will st art at $25,000, and last year's auction fetched $202,100. Yesterday eBay was paddled into banning the sale of tickets for the Live8 African poverty benefit conce rt after being accused by organizer Bob Geldof of acting as an "electron ic pimp". Sellers of the Live8 tickets--who clearly lost touch with the raison d'etre of the concert along the way--saw their items sabotaged by incensed eBay users, who bid millions for the tickets to deliberately s cupper the transactions. Reversing its earlier stance on Live8 sales, eB ay said according to media reports, "We have listened to eBay's communit y of users and the message has been clear. Once we are made aware of any Live8 tickets be ing resold, they will be taken down."
