2013/7/31-9/16 [Computer/Companies/Apple, Industry/SiliconValley] UID:54719 Activity:nil | 7/31 Hi, I am looking for a monitoring recommendation for use at home
with my MacMini and as a second monitor for my Airbook. At this
point I dont want to buy a fancy Apple monitor -- will probably
wait for then to announce a new one -- but price doesnt really
matter [office buy], but it doesnt seem like there is any need
to spend more than $500? Historically I've just gotten a decent

2010/3/19-4/14 [Computer/SW/OS/OsX] UID:53756 Activity:nil | 3/18 Why is a genuine Mac Book charger $60 when it's only $20 on eBay?
I failed to see a difference in quality.
\_ Why does popcorn cost so much at the movies? Why do car values
halve the minute you take it off the lot? Why do you suddenly
pay less when you become a senior citizen? There are economic
reasons for just about every pricing puzzle.

2009/5/23-29 [Computer/Companies/Ebay] UID:53036 Activity:nil | 5/23 I'm seeing a bunch of old German copy stuff w/ Swastika on it
selling on eBay. Doesn't eBay ban Swastika? Or I got it confused
with other stuff?
\_ These are only banned in Germany.
\_ and in France.

2009/1/26-2/1 [Computer/HW/Printer] UID:52464 Activity:nil | 1/26 Bought my XSi kit with 18-55 and 55-250 for only $750. The price
has since then jacked up to about $950 because of US $ and
the end of Canon's $100 rebate. I'll be selling it back on
eBay for a profit. Expect Canon to release something completely
new and better for this year's PMA. Canon rules.

2009/1/15-22 [Computer/Companies/Ebay] UID:52392 Activity:nil | 1/14 I'm an eBay power seller. In the past couple months I've had
a bunch of people claiming that they never received their items
and they're all from the AL, MO area. I'm going to start adding
tracking (75 cents more) which will eat up my profit margin
significantly since the items I sell are really cheap (sub $10
and $5 items and eBay+PayPal are already eating up 10% of fees).

actually buy used legacy HD on eBay?
\_ Yup they do -- researchers doing articles on the lack of safety
of data on computers often go to eBay, buy used hard drives,
and mine all sorts of goodies from the not, or poorly, wiped
drives.

\_ So is the CSUA.
\_ Nope, it's actually really active.
\_ Are there finally girls in the csua?
\_ Is there a projects page?

2010/11/2-2011/1/13 [Politics/Domestic/California, Politics/Domestic/President/Reagan] UID:54001 Activity:nil | 11/2 California Uber Alles is such a great song
\_ Yes, and it was written about Jerry Brown. I was thinking this
as I cast my vote for Meg Whitman. I am independent, but I
typically vote Democrat (e.g., I voted for Boxer). However, I
can't believe we elected this retread.

2010/2/21-3/9 [Politics/Domestic/President/Bush] UID:53717 Activity:nil | 2/18 If not 0 then 1 - wasn't that the basis of the logic of the bush
administration on torture? If we do it, it's legal, and since
torture is illegal, therefore we don't torture?
\_ Bush is a great computer scientist.
\_ He must be, given that he defeated the inventor of the Internet
and AlGorithm.
