6/7 Is there a way to run more than one instance, at the same
time, of Mozilla Firefox in Windows? When I try to run
an instance using a different profile, a new window running
under the old profile is spawned. - danh

\_ I haven't tried this, but this turned up by searching Google for
           "Firefox multiple simultaneous profiles":

5/18 On my Win7 machine, I've been using a PuTTY ssh session to soda as a
proxy for my FireFox to bypass my company's OpenDNS when I visit

However, in the past couple weeks or so, my FireFox would either take

2/5 How is Firefox on version 10, while I still have 3.6 installed.
I wait for the X.1 versions and they never come out.
\_ I'm also on 3.6.26. It claims that versions 4 - 10 are all faster

\_ Newer Firefox versions use less memory too:

2/18 Why is there now Firefox 3.5.8 when there was already 3.6 a month ago?

2/5 I like Adobe Flash. When written correctly, it scales along
with your browser size. It looks consistent on every single
browser. It is predictable. On the other hand, I'm not a big
fan of CSS/HTML, which for the most part, look wildly different
between browsers, and don't even work consistently or
correctly at times. So why do so many people (like Steve Jobs)

Firefox Central How To Manage Profiles Mozilla Firefox stores all your personal settings, such as bookmarks, pas swords and extensions, in a profile. The profile is stored on your hard drive in a profile folder. Move an existing profile or restore a backed up profile Locate your profile folder Knowing where your profile folder is stored can be useful if, for example , you want to make a backup of your personal data. Create a new profile In order to create a new profile, you use the Profile Manager. To start t he Profile Manager in Windows, follow these steps: 1 Close Firefox completely (select File > Exit from the main menu of Fi refox). You should now see the Profile Manager window, shown in the screenshot to the right. From the Profile Manager you are also able to remove and rename profiles. Click Next and enter the name of the profile, eg your name or somethi ng descriptive. You can also choose where on the disk you want the profile to be stored, which is useful if you plan on exporting your settings to another comput er or setup in the future. Finally, click Finish to have Firefox create the new profile. You should now be taken back to the Profile Manager and the newly created profile should be listed. You are now running Firefox with the new profile, which means all setting s are reset to default. If you want to switch back to your old profile, just start the Profile Manager again (instructions above) and select the old profile. You can also have Firefox start a selected profile automatically, so you don't have to pick one each time the browser is launched. Backing up your profile Backing up your profile folder in Firefox is easy. Just follow these step s (which assumes you know how to manage files on your computer): 1 Optional: Empty the browser cache, to reduce the amount of data to ba ckup. on Linux/Mac), select Privacy and click the Clear button next to the Cache item in the list. profile folder to, for example, a CD-RW disc or a separate hard disk for backup purposes. Move an existing profile or restore a backed up profile It's possible to move the location of a profile folder. This could be use ful if you have a backed up profile folder somewhere on your hard drive and want to tell Firefox to use that as your profile. If you are reading these instructions because you want to restore a previously backed up profile, this step isn't necessary. Just note the current location of the profile you want to restore.
