Sowell re ferenced a New York Times article containing a quote from a Wal-Mart emp loyee who said he was not earning a living wage. Sowell asked: "How is h e living, if he is not making a living wage?" Several studies show that he might in fact be getting by through government assistance programs.
Medved's privatization meltdown When radio host Michael Medved challenged Rock the Votes Hans Riemer's us e of the term "privatization" to describe President Bush's proposal for Social Security, Riemer quoted Bush describing private accounts as "priv atization." Yet Medved insisted that the claim that Bush supports privat ization is "a bloody lie" and challenged Riemer to name a politician who said he wanted to "get rid of Social Security." Chris Chocola (R-IN), Medved responded: "I'm not even s ure he is a member of Congress."
