3/9 http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2005/03/08/politics/main678902.shtml Hilary Clinton may run in 2008. WTF are the Democrats thinking? First they bring in the oh so boring Goring, then the uncharismatic Kerry, and now this? How lame can they be -disillusioned, former democrat \_ in other news, her financier pleads guilty to massive fraud, and her finance director is indicted. Ex-Stan Lee Chief Peter Paul to Plead in Securities Case (demands Hillary to "take responsibility") http://209.157.64.200/focus/f-news/1358025/posts Obviously this is part of the VRWC Obviously this is part of the VRWC -Disillusioned Freeper \_ Look, if you are a former democrat, we aren't really interested in your opinion. She *might* run. If you were a democrat, you *might* have something to say about it. But you don't, so shut up. I personally think she is a great candidate. -former independent up. I personally think she is a great candidate. It is listening to people like you that got us John Kerry. Howard Dean would have been the candidate if the Democrats had any sense. He either would have A) won outright or B) energized the party by adding millions of enthusiastic young people to it. Instead we got boring Kerry. -former independent \_ Dipshit, the party was energized. Kerry got far more votes than Gore did, and raised more money than any candidate ever except GW in the same election. Let's face it: Kerry didn't lose, Bush won. \_ Are you former democrat? \_ I'm a former independent. I joined so I could vote in the 2004 primary. I supported Dean until he dropped out, but I genuinely liked Kerry, and was happy to support him for the remainder of the race. \_ Droopy face didn't have a chance. What we really need is a character who isn't going to be owned by a weak accusation like "flip flopper." Kerry did not have the charisma nor the strength to beat Bush and we are getting killed or it now. You need someone that people can like, like frat boy Bush, to actually get some votes. -mrauser \_ Look, it is hard to beat an incumbent president. Since the Great Depression it has only happened three times; once after Watergate, and twice during significant recessions. "We didn't beat the incumbent" is the expected result. We don't need to wring our hands about what we did wrong; I do think we need to figure out what the message will be in 2006/2008. I wish the Democrats would do a better job of not letting Republicans frame the issues. -tom \_ Not to disagree with you, but Ann Coulter framing the issues: http://wnd.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=43219 \_ Ann "the best way to talk to a liberal is with a baseball bat" Coulter? Is that the kind of framing you refer to??? \_ Coulter's spittle is not really what I'm referring to. It's more like things like "death tax" or "welfare reform", where the Republicans have managed to frame the debate in such a way that the Democrats argue not over whether the Republican ideas are fundamentally wrong, but over how to implement the Republican ideas in a different way. -tom \- That is Grover Power. \_ Are you ready? Are you? Here comes... "Howard Dean - chairman of the party that supports murder, adultery, lying about adultery, coveting other people's money, stealing other people's money, mass-producing human embryos for spare parts like an automotive chop shop and banning God - has called the Republican Party 'evil.'" Feel the love. \_ I got a granny who's never seen an online forum that could troll better than this. \_Say what you will about my Darlin' Anne, THIS is funny: "Aspiring first lady Teresa Heinz claims the election was stolen through the machinations of a vast conspiracy involving Republican polling machine manufacturers. We eagerly await a Michael Moore documentary to flesh out the details." \_ THIS is an old gag is what it is but whatever floats your boat... |

209.157.64.200/focus/f-news/1358025/posts Libloather Ex-Stan Lee Chief Paul to Plead in Securities Case Mon Mar 7, 2005 05:20 PM ET By Gina Keating LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Stan Lee Media co-founder Peter Paul said on Mond ay that he would plead guilty to a federal securities charge. However, Paul said the plea was not part of an agreement to cooperate wit h prosecutors probing alleged campaign finance violations by Sen. Paul told Reuters he would plead guilty on Tuesday in New York federal co urt to one count of manipulating the share price of Stan Lee Media, an o nline entertainment company he founded with comic book legend Stan Lee t hat collapsed in 2000. The charge stems from a 2001 indictment accusing Paul and two others of m anipulating Stan Lee stock by buying shares with bad checks and selling at below-market prices. Paul faces more than 10 years in prison but said he has made no deal to l imit his exposure to prison, including talking to prosecutors about a st ar-studded Hollywood fund-raiser he threw for Clinton during her 2000 ru n for the US Senate. Federal prosecutors in Los Angeles have indicted Clinton's former finance director, David Rosen, for on charges of filing false campaign finance reports about how much the event cost. Rosen pleaded not guilty in January to four counts of filing false FEC re ports. He was extradited from Brazil in 2003, where prosecutors said he had fled, and was in federal custody until January after spending 43 mon ths in prisons in the two countries. Paul filed a complaint with the Federal Election Commission and a civil l awsuit claiming he agreed to throw the fund-raiser in exchange for a pro mise from then-President Bill Clinton to work for Stan Lee Media after h e left the White House. The former president has denied that allegation, and both Clintons have a sked the California Supreme Court to dismiss the lawsuit. Clinton "take responsibility for her r ole in what was the largest campaign finance fraud basically that has ev er been reported." "I'm standing up and taking responsibility for an SEC violation. She, as a public figure, should do the same for her (Federal Election Commis sion) violation," he said. A spokeswoman for Clinton could not immediately be reached for comment. Clinton has not been charged with any wrongdoing in connection with the A ug. But Rosen purportedly told federal election officials in-kind contributions totaled $400,000. View Replies To: Libloather On Monday, Paul demanded that Sen. Clinton "take responsibility for her r ole in what was the largest campaign finance fraud basically that has ev er been reported." View Replies To: Peach Has she EVER taken responsibility? She doesn't have to because OLD MEDIA has never held her accountable like they have Republicans. We will be expected to believe she is the second coming by OLD MEDIA. We are sup posed to have amnesia about all the CRIMINAL acts that she has pulled ov er YEARS and YEARS and YEARS. Stock up on information about Hillary because we are going to need it to counter OLD MEDIA. wnd.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=43219 Posted: March 9, 2005 7:40 pm Eastern 2005 Ann Coulter Liberals have been completely intellectually vanquished. It's just that now their defeat is so obv ious, even they've noticed. As new DNC Chairman Howard Dean might say, i t's all over but the screaming. In an editorial last week, the New York Times gave President Bush credit for democracy sweeping through the Middle East or, as the Times put it, "a year of heartening surprises." Yes, the Middle East's current democra tization would come as quite a surprise to anyone who puts his hands ove r his ears and hums during the president's speeches. Marking the first time Walter Cronkite and I have agreed on anything, Cro nkite is ridiculing Dan Rather, saying he should have retired a long tim e ago. No one, not even Chris Matthews, is defending the Italian communist who c laims American forces intentionally shot at her in Iraq. She said her kidnappers had warned her to sta y away from the Americans because they would only hurt her. And then my rapist said, "Whatever you do, don't cry out for the police! Consider that less than 20 years ago, ABC's Peter Jennings and CBS' Mike Wallace announced at an "Ethics in America" panel that they would not in tervene to prevent the slaughter of American troops while on duty as jou rnalists especially during sweeps. troops have ever targeted American journalists in the field during w artime. Now liberal journalists are pretending to support the troops. They hardly ever call them "baby killers" anymore, at least to their faces. Democrats are even pretending to believe in God you know, as they under stand Her. The only people liberals can find to put up a fight these days are ex-Kla nners and other assorted nuts. Bob Byrd, who compared t he Republicans to Hitler last week. Byrd having been a charter member of a fascist organization himself, no one was sure if this was intended as a critique or a compliment. Aspiring first lady Teresa Heinz claims the election was stolen through t he machinations of a vast conspiracy involving Republican polling machin e manufacturers. We eagerly await a Michael Moore documentary to flesh o ut the details. It's only a matter of time before Heinz announces that a nti-Bush insurgents control most of the Red States, and that the sooner the US pulls out of those quagmires, the better. Howard Dean chairman of the party that supports murder, adultery, lying about adultery, coveting other people's money, stealing other people's money, mass-producing human embryos for spare parts like an automotive c hop shop and banning God has called the Republican Party "evil." One D emocrat in the audience, a preschool teacher no less, complained that De an was soft-pedaling his message. Teddy Kennedy's big new idea is to wheel out his 18th proposal to raise t he minimum wage. He's been doing this since wages were paid in Spanish d oubloons (which coincidentally are now mostly found underwater). Kennedy refuses to countenance any risky schemes like trying to grow the econom y so people making minimum wage get raises because they've been promoted . Kennedy's going down and he's taking the party with him! Twenty-six congressmen have signed a letter denouncing me for a column I wrote two weeks ago; for the past two weeks, I've been attacke d on MSNBC and CNN, in the Detroit Free-Press and on every known liberal blog and radio show. But there was no point in responding because no one had heard about the l iberal denunciations in the first place. It was like explaining a joke: OK, and then they said, "Call me a cab," and then I said, "You're a cab! I'm tired of helping liberals publicize their attacks on me. Liberals are going to have to do better than that if they want a response from me. It's not just that we're a divided nation, with liberals watching only CN N and conservatives watching only Fox News. I'm pretty sure liberals are aware of me, and I haven't appeared on CNN for months. No one knows or cares what they're carrying on ab out in their media outlets. They're even le tting Martin Sheen off with a warning now. I hate to sound selfish at such a great moment for the country, but this is nothing short of calamitous for completely innocent right-wing polemi cists. In lieu of common sense, liberals have boundless energy. In the in terest of good sportsmanship, I have some proposals for liberals. I thin k Democrats might want to drop the contract all Democrats apparently hav e to sign pledging to pretend to believe insane things. Also, if you cou ld just get the base of your party to not participate anymore and maybe be a little less crazy, people might listen to you. Barring that, you're just going to have to scream a little louder. New DVD documentary pro files the pretty woman behind the stinging barb and the quick wit.
