1/10 This is so fucking childish. What's next, they going to register
        the potential democratic presidential candidates?
http://csua.org/u/anp (Yahoo News, link substituted, http://csua.org=good)
\_ Bah! Both sides do this. Realistically, if I had any kind of
polical aspirations, I would have registered mynameforoffice.uld
five years ago. His dumbass fault for not doing it.
As long as the Forces of Good have http://www.whitehouse.org
           I'm not going to complaign.
\_ Oh the horror! A Republican might win in MA! Last time that
happened was Weld, but he was a RINO.
\_ This will be deleted by one of the censor happy conservatives.
\_ I agree with the op (that it's childish). Why do you think
              conservatives will censor it? -emarkp
\_ Because they censor anything that criticizes the Republican
Party. I get at least one motd post censored every day.
\_ I think you might be wrong in assuming that everything
critical of the Republicans which is censored is censored
by conservatives. Think about it. -emarkp
\_ Well I considered the possibility that it is just
someone who hates politics in general, but stuff like
the CBS firings entry stays up for at least a day.
\_ And yet I had to restore the John Fund reference. I
suspect the majority of deleted posts are simple
                          mistakes. -emarkp
\_ by dipwads like you who don't use motdedit? -tom
\_ Fuck motdedit. In the ear.
\_ Possibly by others who don't use motdedit.
However, I don't value people by whether they
use 'motdedit' or not. My editor complains if
the motd has changed while I was editing. I
copy my changes, reload the motd and paste the
                                changes back in. -emarkp
\_ who died and made motdedit the standard?
\_ Since this mostly happens late at night when
there is little editing activity going on, I
doubt it. But you might be right.
\_ Where is outcry on the DDOS attacks on the
littlegreenfootballs blog that helped bring down
Rather going on at the moment?
                          \_ http://lgfwatch.blogspot.com
What part of "stop it guys" don't you
                             understand?
\_ HA! A blog to "watch" a blog. Police ur own.
Esp. with the suggestion the writer killed
                                himself.
                                \_ Obviously a joke.

Politics - Reuters By Greg Frost BOSTON (Reuters) - Massachusetts Republicans have launched a pre-emptive strike against Democratic Attorney General Tom Reilly by snapping up onl ine Internet addresses that would have been obvious picks for him if he decides to run for governor in 2006. Reilly has not yet said whether he will challenge Republican Governor Mit t Romney in 2006. That's because the state Republican Party registered those domain names l ast week, the Boston Herald newspaper reported on Monday. "We intend to have some fun if he indeed is the candidate for governor," Tim O'Brien, executive director of the state party, told Reuters. Reilly advisers said the Republicans' Internet maneuvering appeared prema ture, given that the Democratic attorney general has not yet announced h is candidacy. Susan Crawford, an expert in Internet law at New York's Cardozo Law Schoo l, said the Republicans' move seemed to be a new twist on the practice o f cybersquatting, although O'Brien said it was "standard procedure for p olitical operatives." A term that originated in the 1990s, when the Internet was catching on, c ybersquatting refers to the act of reserving a particular domain name fo r the purpose of selling it at a higher price. Celebrities and corporati ons have typically been victims of cybersquatting schemes. Crawford said she could not recall another instance of one political part y registering domain names for a potential rival, although she noted tha t before he ran for president in 2000, then-Gov. George W Bush of Texas complained of a parody site that used his name. Crawford said Reilly still has several options available should he decide to run for governor. Reilly also could dispute the Republicans' move through arbitration, Craw ford said. However, the cost of doing so is likely to be far greater tha n the $6 to $9 fee for registering a new domain name. "He definitely has options, but he may not want to waste his money," she told Reuters. This could be a Denial of Service (DoS) attack, or maybe Charles finally realized what he was doing and chose the Kurt Coba in option. As much as we like the idea of LGF being offline for a little while, in the end Do S-ing is just a crude form of censorship. Let people read the vile racis m that passes for intelligent comment on LGF and make up their own minds . The BBC study immediately set off a frenzy of discussion in the internat ional Jewish community and in response, the International Society for S ephardic Progress (ISFSP) conducted a survey in the form of a random sa mpling of the population of Orlando, Florida, where the ISFSP is based, between December 5 - 26, 2004. "We were stunned to learn the BBC study revealed 45% of people questioned had never heard of Auschwitz. The Or lando findings, 63%, are even more discouraging," stated Mr Shelomo Al fassa, Executive Director of the ISFSP. The recently released study is entitled "Identification of the Term 'Aus chwitz' a Random Sampling Conducted in a US City." To obtain an accur acy level of 339% with a confidence level of 95%, a total of 840 peop le had to be interviewed. Other statistics show men were able to recognize Auschwitz 57% more than women could. Further, it illustrated that women between 21-30 are the group which were least able to state they knew what Auschwitz was. Upon issuing this study, Mr Alfassa declared, "Holocaust education cont inues to be added to the curriculum of training programs for young stud ents across the United States, however, as the years progress and as th e survivors of the Holocaust are passing, many Holocaust programs incre asingly are in jeopardy. Add to this the many revisionist websites whic h exist on the internet, the primary place where school children turn f or information, and we surely will develop a generation which will be d eficient in knowledge of the Holocaust. We must continue to make stride s which will lend to making genocide and Holocaust education available to children of all backgrounds." About The International Society for Sephardic Progress: The International Society for Sephardic Progress is a Jewish agency deve loped to serve the Sephardic community--the descendants of the Jews of historic Spain, Portugal, North Africa and the Levant who share both co mmon religious and cultural bonds. Although a Sephardic organization, t he ISFSP is a Jewish advocacy agency first and foremost. According to this story in the Chicago Sun-Times, the war in Iraq has co st $130 billion to date (per the Office of Management and Budget). Give n that we invaded Iraq 20 March 2003, that comes to 656 days since the invasion, which in turn equals $198,730,732 per day. It's a very interesting audio interview with a t op UN official about the allegations of corruption and nepotism, which, as far as we can tell, for the first time responds to all the dirt that has been thrown at the UN by those who wish to discredit it. Not c ontent to hound the odd dissenter by setting his minions on them, he's e qually quick off the mark when it comes to barring potentially criticaly voices from registering and starting a discussion. The example here is of Abdulhalim, an Arab man who managed to register an d post a total of three times before Charles blocked him. Basically, all it takes is for you to dare to voice the opinion that not all Arabs are evil, and you get blocked on LGF. Contrast this with comments such as: "When are we ever going to purge the disease of "Palestinians" from Isra el?" No other side ef fect and the target can perform sexually just as before. J ust dump it in their water supply then within a generation there are no young spodley dopes and assassins to take the place of the older gener ation." and you will see that calling for genocide is perfectly acceptable on LGF - provided you are calling for the genocide of Palestinians. well, that's not quite what the big C said, but he's clearly heading t here. In a story that we nearly missed (shopping rush, if you must know) , LGFers have come down firmly on the side of giving all Muslims in Amer ica a little yellow crescent for Christmas. the results show that more informed people are concerned about Islami c radicalism in the United States. But Professor Shanahan refuses to dr aw the obvious conclusionthat maybe theyre right. Now hold on a minute: did the survey say anything about it being people w ho are "more informed" who want to see Muslims lose their right to equal treatment under the law? It showed that (apart from reli giosity), high exposure to television news was a factor among those who favoured curtailing Muslims' civil liberties. Is Charles Johnson honestl y arguing that watching television news makes you "more informed"? We look forward to what illogical pr onouncements he's going to come up with in the new year.
