1/5 I ran across the word "ipseity" in a poem, and I'm wondering about the root ipse, which the oed defines as, "truly himself..." for you latin enthusiasts, does this word have an included gender, or is the oed just defaulting to male? Is there an equivalent female or gender neutral pronoun? \_ please. no poem reading here.. unless it's to solve a quest in MUD or something. \_ nm! google says, "ipsa ipsum," although it doesn't have the english "borrow word" connotation of ipse. |
