The legislation doers not specifically force the government to resume ura nium enrichment or end snap UN inspections of atomic facilities as som e of the Iranian lawmakers had wanted, reported al-Jazeera television. "The message of this bill is that we will not give in to pressure," said Parliament Speaker Gholam Ali Haddad Adel. "The Iranian nation is determ ined to use peaceful nuclear technology." Haddad Adel called the vote a message from Iranians to the world. He said Iran would not bow to international pressure demanding it stop all uran ium enrichment-related activities. "The message of the absolute vote for the Iranian nation is that the Parl iament supports national interests, and the message for the outside worl d is that the Parliament won't give in to coercion." |
