10/26 <DEAD>www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6323933<DEAD> (NBC News, dated today)
"At the Pentagon, an official who monitors developments in Iraq said
U.S.-led coalition troops had searched Al-Qaqaa in the immediate
aftermath of the March 2003 invasion and confirmed that the
explosives, which had been under IAEA seal since 1991, were intact.
The site was not secured by U.S. forces, the official said, speaking
on condition of anonymity. ... Mohammed J. Abbas, a senior official at
Iraq's Ministry of Science and Technology, reporting the theft of the
explosives. The materials were lost through 'the theft and looting of
the governmental installations due to lack of security,' the letter
said. The letter informed the IAEA that since Sept. 4, 2003, looting
at Al-Qaqaa had resulted in the loss of 214.67 tons of HMX, 155.68 tons
of RDX and 6.39 tons of PETN explosives. It was not clear how Iraqi
        authorities arrived at that date."
        "Reporter Lai Ling Jew ... embedded ... 'There wasn't a search ...
The mission that the brigade had was to get to Baghdad. That was more
of a pit stop there for us. And, you know, the searching, I mean
certainly some of the soldiers headed off on their own, looked through
the bunkers just to look at the vast amount of ordnance lying around.
But as far as we could tell, there was no move to secure the weapons
        nothing to keep looters away.'"
\_ Woops, once again NYtimes and CBS are exposed as frauds

2003. ...'" Uh, I think "government source" just saw the first
NBC News article (incorrectly reporting HMX/RDX as already
              missing) and echoed that.

The Daily Recycler Tuesday, October 26, 2004 NYTrogate The right-wing media is out to screw the Kerry campaign! First CBS News t ricked Kerry and the Democrats into running "Bush was AWOL" ads by broad casting what they knew to be forged memos. Now Kerry has been duped into co-opting a phony issue into his stump speeches by the New York Times! We understand that it's an important election -- but it just isn't fair f or the New York Times and CBS News to sabotage the Kerry/Edwards ticket in the last week of the campaign! Cliff May over at the Corner writes: Sent to me by a source in the government: The Iraqi explosives story is a fraud. These weapons were not there when US troops went to this site in 2003. The IAEA and its head, the anti-American Mohammed El Baradei, leaked a false letter on this issue to the media to embarrass the Bush administration. The US is trying to deny El Baradei a second term and we have been on his case for missing the Libyan nuclear weapons program and for weakness on the Iranian nuclear weapons program. Drudge: 60 MINS PLANNED BUSH MISSING EXPLOSIVES STORY FOR ELECTION EVE News of missing explosives in Iraq -- first reported in April 2003 -- wa s being resurrected for a 60 MINUTES election eve broadcast designed to knock the Bush administration into a crises mode. What amazes me is not that they just are thowin g anything out there and hoping it sticks the week before the election. It's that they do not back off a story even after proven ridiculous. I just wish the mainstream media would call Kerry on things like this, but I guess it's too much too hope. This video should be posted on MSNBC, instead not a single article about how they reported on the missing explosives the day after our troops entered Iraq. What amazes me is not that they just are thowin g anything out there and hoping it sticks the week before the election. It's that they do not back off a story even after proven ridiculous. EO 11967 and Presidential Proclamation 4483 provided general amnesty for draft evaders, war protesters and other offenders of that era. Its corresponding, and equally dubious, DoD directive took effect in March of 1977, expanding that amnesty to include separation from military service by other than honorable discharges. Stolen Honor nails Kerry and the VVAW and how they lied at Winter Soldier. And how Kerry lied to the US Senate in 1971 And how Kerry and his pack of liars caused our POW's to suffer! Kerry and the DNC cannot stop EVERYONE on the internet from seeing this! And attacked John O'Neil This is just a 3:28 sample of his attack. PS O'Donnell never served in the military BUT "knows" all about it? WMV Free online version of John Kerry and the VVAW "The New Soldier" Banned by the DNC! com/fr/newsoldier/ The Swiftvets news conference on C-SPAN can be found here. com today, and I saw a link to purchase "John Kerry and John Edwards' Plan for America", I clicked the link to view how much they wanted for the piece of garbage, and was brought to a page that said "Error: Not Found". every UN action of any effectiveness for the last fifty years has required the US military as a centerpiece. The reason that europe wants Kerry to win is because they know that they can exploit his ever present liberal guilty conscience and lead his administration around by the nose, like they've done to every administration since Rosevelt. I am convinced th at Bush would have been run out of this country had he not attacked Iraq when he did. I am certain that our economy would still be nosediving if Gore was in office. It's surprising how gullible half of America is - particularly when it's obvious that Kerry has no real plan for America. For the sake of my family and future generations, I now wish I was a Florida resident so that I can make a difference in this election. I guess when you have a small mind, one word applies to everything. When the terrorists are attacking, just use that word against them, it will protect you. In the meantime, get an education and learn something new to spew. I love it when the Kerry supporters use this kind of language. com/ 1) As far as pit stops go, I've made some pretty long ones in my travels, but almost 24 hours? That must have been one Hell of a line for the bathroom. Then once you've found (or discovered missing) what you were looking for, you can decide on whether or not to give the 50 cent tour to the press corps. We've been hearing Kerry drone on and on about the mistake it was in going into Iraq when there were no WMDs, and now we are hearing that it is chaos because there WERE WMDs and now they are missing. Does he support our troops, or are our troops incompetent and unable to search for the WMDs that were supposedly there? And how in the heck did anyone get 380 tons of explosives out of there within a matter of a day or less without anyone seeing it happen? It would take loads of people, loads of trucks and weeks to be able to do it. Where is the common sense in calculating how that could happen? Perhaps the IAEA should have done ITS job and gotten rid of the WMDs as expected instead of waiting for us to do it. We have an elective process second to none on the planet. But where else would you find mainstream media (propogandists) saying anything they want, with only their interpation being the only credible version acceptable (sounds eerily similar to the former Soviet State run media and the current "Truth" eminating from the Chinese Communists) to influence an elective Democratic process for no apparent reason. I'm sure glad that the Maker afforded me enough brain power to be objective when others, either through subjective arrogance or just plain idiotic bigotry cannot tell the difference between right and wrong. So if you are a believer in Christ and you believe in the teachings he taught then you are not for Bush, but you are for what Kerry stands for. Equality, peaceful coexistance and the ability to make a choice for what you want out of life with in the laws of our nation. Loyalty oaths and the ommission of anyone thought to be a non republican only serves to remind me of Adolf and his gang of thugs in Munich 1933. You cite the Drudge report (and the Drudge repor t cites you) and then Rush reads the Drudge report verbatim on his show. Journalists citing journalists and confusing that with fact. Rush rambled on today about the MSNBC "report" that MSNBC reporters were there in April 2003 and the depot was empty! A quick visit to MSNBC's website reveals that Rush is as slippery with the truth as the current administration. com/id/6323933 MSNBC's embedded reporters were in the munitions depot with the 101st for 24 hours where they rested before they were ordered to continue to Baghdad. No systematic search of the depot was ordered or conducted - although a few troops looked around to ogle the extensive stores of shells. Rush is right that they but did not see the high explosives - but they was no systematic source. Neither Rush nor Drudge made any mention of the MSNBC's reference to anonymous sources at the Pentagon who have both since admitted that the high explosives were still there after the 101st moved on. Rush bases his entire argument on an embedded reporter and a few assumptions about how the world works.
