Aimbot, autoshoot, wallhack, all here. Useful if you play games.
\_ A non-trivial intersection between motd posters and the CS
crowd would make all too much sense... with all of them
'w00t' and 'omg you got pwned' crap I keep seeing here. -- ilyas
'w00t' and 'omg you got pwned' things I keep seeing here. -- ilyas
\_ Translation: ilyas is talking down 2 all u l00z3rS!!1!
           \_ n00b
\_ Yeah, I hear there are a few gun nuts on motd.
\_ What's a gun nut? Someone who believes owning a handgun is
                 a good idea? -- ilyas
\_ you can own 20 guns and not be a gun nut. you can hunt
and target shoot and not be a gun nut. You can have a
gun you carry at all times for protection and not be a
gun nut. A gun nut is someone who *believes* in
gun ownership as some sort of philosophical position,
not just because they want to kill deer, protect
themselves or practice their eye-hand coordination.
                    That's a gun nut.
                    \_ Wow, nicely summed up.
\_ I don't understand this summary. Are the asterisks
somehow significant? I believe in life, liberty, etc.
Does that make me a life nut or a liberty nut? Of course
I believe in all the rights I think I have. What you
are saying is coming across as 'anyone who tries to
defend a position I don't agree with is a nut.' Well,
that's great, we found the nut in the conversation, and
it ain't me. Or maybe you just object to people trying
to come up with principled justifications for what
they believe in, and rather the world was just a giant
                       meaningless compromise between competing interest
groups. That's not nutty, that's sad and depressing.
                         -- ilyas
\_ alan keyes is a "gun nut"
\_ Anyone who uses cheats for an online game doesn't deserve to live.
           \_ "CAMELOT!" "It's only a model..." "Shh!"

Generally this genre of games contains a lot of action and is played from the first person point of view. Games that fall into this category would be Counter-Strike, Quake, Doom. Their are many games, such as Deus Ex, that are called first person shooters but are far more story driven. Those games play more like a crossbread of FPS games and RPG's (Role Playing Games). Detailed description Half-Life Half-Life combines great storytelling in the tradition of Stephen King with intense action and advanced technology to create a frighteningly realistic world where players need to think smart to survive. Since its release in November 1998, Half-Life has won more than 50 Game of the Year awards from publications around the world, including Computer Gaming World, PC Gamer, and CNET's Gamecenter. Half-Life was named "Best PC Game Ever" in the November 1999 issue of PC Gamer, and has also won seven 1999 Spotlight awards, including Best PC Game and Best of Show, from the professional game development community. These are the only awards given to game developers by their peers. Detailed description Counter-Strike Counter-Strike (CS) is a multiplayer action game built on the Half-Life engine. CS mixes elements of strategic gaming into its unique blend of team-based action play. Today, Counter-Strike is the most popular online action game of all time. Console AK-47 AKA: CV-47 Cost: 2500 Description: The AK-47 is a great weapon - one that can mow down enemies at the drop of a hat. One thing to keep in mind when using the AK-47 is that its first two shots are the most accurate and every subsequent shot will stray further and further from your reticule. Magnum Sniper Rifle Cost: 4750 Description: The AWP is the most powerful weapon in Counter-Strike. It can cut down an armored enemy with a single hit and it's deadly accurate at all ranges. Never used unscoped as it is surprisingly inaccurate that way. Benneli M3 Super 90 Combat AKA: Leone 12 Gauge Super Cost: 1700 Description: It might be relatively inexpensive but you get what you pay for. You must deal not only with horrendously slow reload times, but with slow cocking times as well. In tight maps with a lot of corridors and alleyways this shotgun can be deadly. In fact at point-blank range it can kill an unarmored player with one shot. Benneli xm1014 AKA: Leone YG1265 Auto Shotgun Cost: 3000 Description: The xm1014 uses the same ammunition as the M3 Super 90 but it's fully automatic. The xm1014 is absolutely deadly at close range and in tight areas, however, in large maps it's all but useless. Very inaccurate and expensive, these are generally bought when you merely want to embarass your oponent. Colt M4A1 Carbine AKA: Maverick M4A1 Carbine Cost: 3100 Description: The weapon of choice among assault rifle users on CT side. Early versions were equipped with a scope, however that was dropped and replaced by a silencer. While losing a little power while silenced - it is still deadly accurate and powerful. Counter Terrorist Also known as a CT, these guys are the good guys. Or if you're a team killer, then everyone is bad guys... Defusal Kit Cost: 200 Description: This should be bought every round on DE maps. It cuts the bomb defuse time from 10 to five seconds, which could mean the difference between a successful mission and a failed one. Many people will forgo their default pistols and buy one of these portable cannons instead. The Desert Eagle can penetrate some walls and doors, which is a distinction that only the most expensive rifles own. Famas AKA: Fusil Automatique, Manufacture d'Armes de St. Etienne Cost: 2250 Description: This item was meant to be the rival to the AK 47. For the same price you can buy an mp5 and armor and be far more better off. Flashbang Cost: 200 Description: These work great for temporarily blinding the enemy and giving you a strong advantage when used correctly. You can carry two - and blind your own teammates - so use can be either tremendously advantageous, or a deadly mistake. FN Five Seven AKA: ES Five Seven Cost: 750 Description: Its massive clip holds more rounds than some rifles and is also the most accurate pistol you can buy in the game. However its price and lack of power leave something to be desired. FN P90 AKA: ES P90 Cost: 2350 Description: Odd design, major clip size. This gun also has one of the highest fire rates in the game. Galil AKA: IDF Defender Cost: 2000 Description: With a 2000 price tag, this is quite an affordable weapon. It is also quite accurate in short burts - better than the mp5 if properly used. Glock 18 AKA: 9x19 Sidearm Cost: 400 Description: The Glock is slightly less powerful than the H&K USP, but its maximum rate of fire is limited only by your finger speed. So the faster you can click your mouse, the faster this semi-automatic pistol will fire. Additionally, its special weapon function is a triple-burst fire which is deadly at close range. This mode makes the Glock very inaccurateand thus using triple-burst over any distance longer than point blank isn't recommended. H&K G3/SG-1 AKA: D3/AU-1 Semi-Auto Sniper Rifle Cost: 5000 Description: A slightly inaccurate, semi-automatic sniper rifle. If you plan to merely snipe however, choose a different sniper rifle. Heckler & Koch UMP AKA: K&M UMP45 Cost: 1700 Description: This gun was manufactured by the same company as the MP5 Alhough it has a higher caliber round and a higher rate of fire, it has a much slower reload time. Heckler & Koch USP Tactical AKA: K&M 45 Tactical Cost: 500 Description: While being a formidable pistol, it lacks the firepower of the more expensive sidearms. One advantage it does have is the ability to be silenced. While silencing makes this pistol slightly less powerful than it normally would be, doing so makes it a little more accurate. Silencing almost completely hides its gunfire noise and masks its muzzle flashes, all of which make it perfect for catching terrorists by surprise. When used properly these items can inflict serious dmage on several people within a group. Hostage These are the guys you are meant to rescue on (CS) maps. Kevlar Vest and Helmet Cost: 1000 Description: While you can buy the vest and helmet seperately, it is suggested that you buy the combopack. The helmet doesn't do much however, as a headshot from nearly anything other than a pistol will kill you (hell, even pistols will kill you with the right vec). Special Kind of Stupid Mac10 AKA: Ingram Mac-10 Cost: 1400 Description: Like the UMP, it does a relatively high amount of damage per shot but has a much higher rate of fire. However, it suffers from a severe lack of accuracy which makes it one of the least-used guns in the game. K&M submachine gun Cost: 1500 Description: The MP5 is easily the favorite weapon of all Counter-Strike players. Whether you've won or lost the first round it is inexpensive enough that you can automatically afford it by the second round. Its clip can hold 30 rounds and 120 spare rounds meaning you'll rarely run out of ammo. And despite its budget status, the MP5 is a very formidable weapon with minimal recoil and a very high rate of fire. Night Vision Goggles Cost: 1250 Description: If you have proper gamma and brightness settings (or a decent cheat), this becomes useless. Although it does turn everything a neat shade of Chernobyl Green. ES M249 Para Cost: 5750 Description: The biggest and most expensive gun in Counter-Strike, It can carry a whopping 100 rounds per clip which it spews forth at an incredible rate (especially with a speedhack on). Schmidt Scout Cost: 2750 Description: While being the lightest and cheapest of the sniper rifles - you pay for that in power. You will always use two shots with the scout where one was necessary with the AWP. However the scout is a fine choice to play with the enemy's emotions. weak weapons and low health/armor will ensure you're on the losing end of almost every firefight you get into. The upside is you'll rack up points carrying the flag, which as the Scout, is your entire raison d'etre. To help him escape enemies, the Scout can throw down caltrops, which will injure and slow down anyone who runs over them. He also has concu...
