7/7 Has anyone tried the NEC ND-2510A dual layer DVD burner?
        How good is it? Thanks.
\_ I don't have personal experience, but check the http://newegg.com user
comments and http://cdfreaks.com forums/reviews. I've also read the NEC
does better at 8x than the LITE-ON. You're probably fine getting
the NEC, but I like all the extra user-created tools and the
           CD-burning quality of LITE-ON.
           \_ CD burning quality?

BTC is growing in the optical market due to competitive prices and large OEM contracts, so it will be interesting to see how their latest DVD-Writer performs. Read on to see our test results and opinions on this writer. The Philips DVDRW885 drive supports the new Dual Layer DVD+R writing technlogy, allowing dual layer discs of 85Gb to be written. Philips has a long history for developing optical drives and lately has joined forces with BenQ for manufacturing and developing optical drives. The synergy that results seems to benefit both BenQ and Philips, in that BenQ has the production facilities, while Philips designs the chipset and electronic components as well as being on of the main DVD+R/RW developers. Last month Plextor launched their third DVD recorder, the Plextor PX-712A, at which were going to take a look at in this review. As the model number of the drive suggests, it supports 12x DVD+R recording speeds, a world's first.
