| dban.sourceforge.net SourceForge Logo Darik's Boot and Nuke Darik's Boot and Nuke ("DBAN") is a self-contained boot floppy that securely wipes the hard disks of most computers. DBAN will automatically and completely delete the contents of any hard disk that it can detect, which makes it an appropriate utility for bulk or emergency data destruction. DBAN Project Dontations Note:You must run the install program to create the DBAN floppy disk. You cannot create the DBAN floppy disk by copying files to a blank floppy disk. Please clearly label your DBAN boot media because it is dangerous. DBAN treats these disks as defective and will abort at the end of the first pass. You can check whether you have one of these disks by booting with a DOS floppy and writing to the last sector with a hex editor.
