5/3 I remember this old comment in the archives (re: digital slr cameras)
"Digital Rebel has some serious user-interface issue as a pedagogic
tool to move user beyond point-n-shoot..." -kngharv
What's the basis of that slam on the dig. rebel? Anyone agree with
        that sentiment?

9/28 A lot of photos I take come out blurry. A lot of them are clear,
too, but the proportion of blurry photos is high. This has led me
to take more photos than I otherwise would in hopes of getting a
clear one. I took some photos of the Rio grande and they
were all awesome, but the next day I took photos of landscapes
and almost all of them were blurry. Could it be the camera or is

4/8 I want to by my mom a point and shoot camera for about $150 because
she's running around with this 1 megapixel camera from back in the
day. I looked at Canon and Nikon, but I am not as into this stuff as
some people on MOTD are. I take photos with my Blackberry. What's
a good choice in that price range? Definitely not more than $200.

On a scale of 1-10 (10=best), how good is this flickr

8/31 Does it make sense to buy a nice 70-200mm f/4L lens and mount it on a
cheap Canon Rebel XSi with 12MP? I'd hate to upgrade the body
because bodies get outdated quickly, and I don't care about how fast
auto-focus is. I just care about image quality for non-sports pics. I'd
love to have a sharper lens than my cheapo 55-250mm and don't care
about the body, but I'm wondering if there are severe disadvantages

I like SLR's, and anything that would fit on the back of my Cannon AE-1 would be fine. Do they have mechanical shutter curtains in front of the CCD just like their film counterparts do in front of the film? A colleague told me about a decent Nikon (D2H) but the lenses seem to be pretty expensive. The CCD is not the same size as the film (24mm X 36mm), as result, the lens you have will not be the same effective focal length nor apature. Is this format going to stay and how does it compare with 35mm? If you are not serious, get a digital in your price range.
