They can infect any human that gets next to them, and make them join their quest to take over the city. Your job, should you chose to stop them, is to nuke them from orbit. Clicking on the screen will annihilate a small area of the city, killing any humans or zombies in the area. Once you've succeeded you can hit Z to make a new city, Space to resurrect everyone, in the same city, with 3 new zombies to deal with, or hit + and - to increase/decrease the number of people in the city.
