4/21 So what's going to happen to the UCSEE machines? Are they gone
        forever?
\- ucsee is back up. it looks like the are quenching ping replies,
so that may not be a reliable way to check on it. --psb

\_ they will go on contract with CUSG so jon will have to run them.
\_ I'll need a UC account fund number for that.

10/27 Anybody knows what's up with the alumni.eecs server?
It has been down for almost a month now.
\_ It is run by volunteers. Maybe you'd like to volunteer?
\- my suspicion is this is a casualty of the IEEE office move.
ucsee was off the air for a while because nobody checked
is there was a drop in the new office, and then there was a

Right now our recruitment is in severe decline, what can we do to get
people more interested in what we are doing. Infosessions will help,
but will be slow to develope. This will be an open-ended discussion
of things we can do to boost membership and more specifically
        active/interested membership."

11/23 I haven't been on campus in years. Who's the best group to go through
to arrange and advertise an Infosession for a tech company? Thanks. -steve
\_ After the newbie amckee/mrauser/brett debacles, I'd avoid csua.
Both HKN and UCSEE are well known since the early 90s and have
good reputations with industries. My company sends someone to
UCSEE every year. The whole point of the existence of CSUA in

10/16 C'mon people, stop threatening to not hire anyone, or sorrying
        people.
\_ I agree, that was done in very poor taste. Amckee has put
a _lot_ of work into this organization and just because you
disagree with him is no justification for the threats. You
have also disproved the benefit that the alumni offer, this is

2/21 Seeing as most of politburo is new to the CSUA (and even the
university) this semester, they havn't been "indoctrinated" (if that's
an appropriate word) into the history and culture of the CSUA. As
such, there's a bit of culture change going on through their work. I'm
curious as to what people think about the historical culture versus
the newer culture. Should the CSUA maintain its "geeky" roots with

This is the UC Berkeley IEEE Student Branch, part of Region 6 (US - West). As an active organization on campus, we provide lab services, promote student professional awareness, participate in high school outreach programs, play a role as a backbone for student-industry networking, and plan student social activities to maintain balance with the technical atmosphere. Anyone and everyone who wants to help in this project (crimping, manual labor, fixing the network) is encouraged to come on Saturday, November 22nd. We are leaving at 8:15am from Cory Hall and plan to be finished at noon. Unfortunately, the Digital Divide exists even in the hotbed of technology itself, Berkeley and the Silicon Valley. "Bridging the Digital Divide" aims to bring wireless and high speed internet access to local school and community groups in the East Bay. As students of EECS, we hope to use our technical knowledge to provide increased information technology (IT) resources to our community. We invite you to attend our launch: Bridging the Digital Divide: Kickoff Meeting Friday, October 3, 2003 HP Auditorium, 306 Soda Hall 3:30-5:00 pm Questions or Comments?
