These remarks are the reality of these hate filled Watermelon Green Jihadists. These Watermelon Gree Jihadists are far more dangerous to our lives than the al Qaeda thugs. I'm sure that they have been funded by the Opecker Princes and Saddam for 2 decades. Your comment below, needs to be repeated as our war against the Islamakazis continues and they continue to scream no re destroying Saddam. Major funding for our ecowackos comes from the Saudis and others I'm afraid. Who else stands to gain if we do NOT develop our own oil reserves? Major funding for our ecowackos comes from the Saudis and others I'm afraid. Who else stands to gain if we do NOT develop our own oil reserves? And just where are you going to grow the plants you like to eat? Oh, that's right - you think that humans starving to death is great! Phasing out the human race will solve every problem on earth, social and environmental. Yep, I'm sure all the rabbits (and other critters) eaten by wolves (and other predators) will agree that all their problems will be solved with no humans around. I agree - these statements would be funny if they weren't so scary. The original Luddites were not socialists, nor were they motivated by some general anti-technology ideology. They were simply folks being put out of work by automation. They may have been totally wrong in what they tried to do, but they were in no way equivalent to the sort of modern day people accused of being "Luddites". I especially like the 70's ones concerning global COOLING! What a gas (pun intended) EBUCK 176 26 posted on 09/04/2002 7:36:30 PM PDT by 177 EBUCK 178 Post Reply | 179 Private Reply | 180 To 16 | 181 View Replies To: zapiks44 "Every time you turn on an electric light, you are making another brainless baby -- Helen Caldicott, Union of Concerned Scientists" She was one of them. One correction: whenever the name of this group is mentioned it must be placed in 'scare quotes' thusly: The "Union" of "Concerned" "Scientists". They are not scientists, nor are they a union, nor are they "concerned" about anything but promoting Luddism. To begin with, we do not believe that it is enough to preserve some of our remaining wilderness. It is not enough to oppose the construction of new dams. A socialist world would place an enormous priority an alternative energy sources. They use bad data, as well as for the Brent Spar as for the French nuclear tests. At the time, there were many valid issues, most of which have been addressed. These are the leftovers, rebels without a cause that are revealing their East-Bloc variety of knee jerk socialism through the now threadbare veil of ecological concern. It's a movement advanced by people who care about life on planet Earth. We're not just a bunch of misanthropes and anti-social, Malthusian misfits, taking morbid delight whenever disaster strikes humans. Voluntary human extinction is the humanitarian alternative to human disasters. We don't carry on about how the human race has shown itself to be a greedy, amoral parasite on the once-healthy face of this planet. That type of negativity offers no solution to the inexorable horrors which human activity is causing. Rather, The Movement presents an encouraging alternative to the callous exploitation and wholesale destruction of the Earth's ecology. Each time another one of us decides to not add another one of us to the burgeoning billions already squatting on this ravaged planet, another ray of hope shines through the gloom. When every human chooses to stop breeding, Earth's biosphere will be allowed to return to its former glory, and all remaining creatures will be free to live, die, evolve (if they believe in evolution), and will perhaps pass away, as so many of Mother Nature's "experiments" have done throughout the eons. My personal observation is that for any group, which is formed to solve legitimate problems, will eventually be hijacked by the wackos in direct correlation to how successful the group was in solving those problems. For example, the civil rights movement actually addressed real social problems, and had truly massive support among blacks. Primarily they were successful - voting rights, employment, right to live and work where they want. Today the movement has been hijacked by the Al Sharptons and Jesse Jackson. The feminist movement of the late 60's early 70's was focused on the issue of women's right to get jobs, not be discriminated against in the work place, and not suffer blatant unwanted sexual propositions and harassment in the workplace. The ecology movement in the 70's did bring needed reform. We don't have smokestacks dumping poison into the air, or factories dumping industrial waste into our drinking water. Our air and water today is far cleaner than it was in, say, 1960. In general, as a popular movement is successful, the early leaders retire and the mainstream members drop out - because they have BEEN SUCCESSFUL in achieving their objectives. This permits the wackos to succeed to the leadership of the organization. The more successful a movement, the less need of an organization, the more wackos you find taking over. The only exception to this rule is when the organization is focused in an area where there won't be any media coverage. These crazies need to have as much light shown upon them and their dark intentions as possible! And yes it was intentional on his(Christopher Manes) part that it is phonically misanthropy - hatred of mankind. Journal Haven't met a slug yet who put slugs on the moon. If these quotes were so frightening, they would be funny. Only conspicuous example of someone quitting is the Lady who started MADD (Mothers against drunk drivers), who said that she had accomplished what she wanted, awareness of the problem, and further pursuing pushing the agenda would accomplish little real gain. But they don't particularly help make their cause popular.
