7/12 Does anyone know what happened near the San Mateo Bridge toll plaza
around 8am? All lanes except the carpool lane were blocked. I was
half asleep on a shuttle and I couldn't see it fast enough.
\_ The only thing worse than looky-loos slowing down traffic is a LL
sitting half asleep on a bus posting to the motd about it. Who
           cares?
\_ But the shuttle is free and it's public.
\_ But the shuttle is free and it's open to public.
\_ obviously one person does, so shut your ass.
\_ Yes just like thousands of other idiots slow to a crawl when
they see someone on the side with a flat tire. Stupid
gawkers. Your reply is just "one idiot thinks its important
so it must be important". Stalled truck. Jesus F. Christ
on a stick, save us from this stupidity.
\_ I don't slow down or look when I drive, and I hate drivers
who do and I honk at them. I only look when I'm a
                    passenger.
        \_ Stalled truck.
           \_ Thanks.

9/18 The Space Shuttle Endeavour is doing a fly over of Nasa Ames on Friday:

\_ They have reached their cap on car passes! Ahh! I wish I heard
           about this earlier! :-(
\_ I saw it above HW 101 in San Mateo this morning. I wonder how many
people in the Bay Area watched it (the real thing, not a broadcast.)

Given that the explosion occured so far up in the sky, why was the
"boom" sound heard at the same time as the visual explosion? Shouldn't
there have been a couple seconds of delay?
        \_ Wake up, sheeple!

NASA keeps air safety data private to avoid public panic.
\_ If we give people real things to worry about, they might stop
caring about the War on Terrah.
\_ NASA? Shouldn't FAA be doing this?

2/10 Does anyone have an authoritative URL that shows the % of people
in the Bay Area who commute via foot, bike, car, BART, and Caltrains?
In particular I'd like to look at trend as well.
        \_ http://www.sfced.org/about-the-city/urban-data-and-statistics/commute-patterns has some. -tom

7/20 Do people not know that the only place where there is no speed
limit is on a freeway onramp? Which means that it is the entrant
driver's job to speed up and get in past the existing traffic?
\_ The ones who can't accelerate are in SUVs
\_ True. My 2nd-gen Prius (not the 2010) accelerates on the
              on-ramps fine. -- !OP
