6/19 Can someone recommend an effective, painless pubic hair removal
technique? I tried tweezing it recently but this almost always results
        in an infection. Thanks.
\_ squssors! see the bottom of the page. we use them in my lab
to cut .5 mil wires, which are much finer than a human hair.
           http://www.thesilverneedle.com/scissors.html
Unless they launch themselves a half-inch out of your nose I bet
no one notices. Unless you've got a nose-hair inspector to deal
           with?
           ...and they're only 12 bucks.
\_ .5 mil? As in 0.5 mm? That's orders of magnitude thicker than
              the average human hair.
\_ 1 mil means one thousanth of an inch, which is about
25 microns. a human hair is about 70-100 microns, or
                 3-4 mils in diameter(a micron is 10^-6 m).
\_ Who the hell uses this unit and, more importantly, WHY?
\_ It's very common in circuit board manufacturing, for
                       instance. Why ask why? --dim
\_ what about one of those spinning blade "shavers", made by
           Braun or companies like that.
\_ yes, what about them? Do they work well?
\_ Why bother? Who could possibly be interested in your nose hairs?
Unless they launch themselves a half-inch out of your nose
and wave madly at passers-by, I'd bet that no one notices. Unless
you've got a nose-hair inspector to deal with?
\_ Because he doesn't want to look like an ugly unkempt sloppy nerd?
\_ I bet your wife has visible nose-hairs
        \_ Um... scissors?
\_ Scissors works well for me. As for why bother, when my nose hair
is too long it makes the inside of my nose itchy.
\_ Fire. Light those suckers up! Works for me!
\_ Just don't inhale at the same time. Very bad.
\_ I just grab 'em and yank 'em out. Not really painless, though.
\_ Whatever the solution, it don't cure ugly
\_ It's not a cure, but it does temporarily fix one of the symptoms.
        \_ Nads!

So if you came here looking for the cool Limited Edition Ginghers, 21 this link will take you to them! We're highlighting a few here, and will be adding more to treat you! DOVO The DOVO scissor company is the oldest scissor company in Germany. They are all great to work with, they're sturdy, sharp, pretty, and just have the most wonderful "hand" to me. Every pair you pick up to try feels better than the last one! They have a "Satisfaction Guaranteed" guarantee, but you won't be disappointed! Wonderful quality -- Solingen Steel from Germany -- these feature stainless blades, imprinted with DOVO's manufacturing stamp, and a soft-plastic coated handle treatment. The finest cutlery, these are 3 1/2", have fantastic sharp, narrow blades, and just feel like a dream! These have the beautiful brushed pewter finish, with enlarged finger holes, that feel wonderful, making a swoosh when you flex them. The handle style was designed for the company's 110th anniversary -- 1882-1992 -- and are dated as such! Each pair comes with that beautiful leather case, as well! SN-28A Breathtakingly beautiful, these are a real treat to hold! Five-inch scissors, they feature an intricate filagree design in their handles that is finished in an antiqued golden-silver patina. The blades are the blued-steel as in our SN13-a and SN13-b scissors. They feel wonderful in your hand, just like slicing through butter! These DOVOs are an absolute must for your scissor collection, so unique! Measuring a full 5" from end to end, they are beautifully forged with either silver-plated handles, or gold-plated. The metal has gone through heating and cooling processes that alter its appearance to change it into a blue color. The blades are such a pretty, deep transparent shade that they really set off the handles! These are larger versions of our SN14A and SN14B scissors, so they'd make a really neat companion to their smaller counterparts. The Storks have a very thin, short cutting blade, suitable for delicate cutting. The Chanticleer pair has a much larger, more durable-feeling blade to me. The stork styles all feature a silver finished bird wing, with the rest of the scissor all gold. Each has a wonderful feel, and will be a neat addition to your collection! A beautiful, rich, transparent color -- actually in the metal itself -- it's created during the forging process. It's the stainless steel, before the gold plating is added. The other 4 featured here have the gold plated handles, with steel blades. These quality Dovo scissors are smooth, functional, sturdy, very well balanced, and have an unbelievable feel to their cutting action. I think the brushed steel finish just makes them "swoosh" when you flex them! I just love to watch customer's reactions when I give them these to try out! A great little scissor, the blade makes up half the overall length, so they give you lots of cutting power in a little scissor! The "swoosh" when you close these scissors is so smooth, I don't have words to describe it! Gingher has a lifetime warranty on their products, covering the steel quality and design. We also have wonderful Gingher 23 Limited Edition Shears! Gingher Scissors The Collector's Reproduction series, from Gingher, evolved from a scissors pattern found in the Museum of London, and authenticated to 1692 AD. Each scissor is 3 1/2," and there are 4 finishes available. Each comes in a gift box, with a leather sheath to protect your stitching bag, and the scissor tips. They are also Stainless Steel, and have the Gingher name behind them. Designed as an alternative to the Collector's Line, a little softer on the budget, these make great take-anywhere scissors. They feel great, to me, and I love that each comes with its own leather protective sheath. They cut beautifully, but are not for heavy weight threads or fabrics! These are a favorite for fancy needle cases and shadow box arrangements. They are stainless steel, with gold accents on their handles. When they're closed, the handles are pierced to form a cross. They all have a wonderful feel, especially the ones with the black finish. They were a nice surprise for me at the last market I shopped! SN-31: Gold Wave: A shiny gold--handled style, with a shape I've not seen before! Very pretty, well balanced in your hand, a pretty little 3 1/2" size. A teeny scissor, perfect for a younger stitcher, a small needle case, an airline trip, just a little something! Pretty, shiny gold finish, they're a good all-purpose scissor. They feel a little heavy -- substantial -- and look better in a larger hand than something like the petite styles. Measuring a teeny-weenie 2 1/2" in length, and 1 1/2" at the widest point of the handles, their blades of 1/2" have a nice, sharp point! Nice cutting quality, the gold finish is shiny and bright! They are designed for cutting metallic threads, because they feature one mini-serrated blade, which should be on the bottom as you cut. The blade will hold the metallic thread steady, while the top blade chops it off. Regular scissors have 2 smooth cutting blades that allow metallics to 'slip' over them during the cutting process. With this mini-serrated design, the metallic thread is held in place, and won't slide during the cutting. They'll look great with a pretty beaded scissor tassel attached, too! These two: "The Fleur," and "The Fantasy" are each a 4" size. The handle end of the pair is almost 3" long, while the blades are only 1 inch. It gives you the feel of a longer pair, much more delicate than you'd imagine. They both have a sharp point at the end of the blades, but not dangerously so. A little wider blade than some of the DOVO brands, but such pretty styles! They have handles that have been dipped with translucent colors! Available in both antique silver or antique gold, they feature a 24" chain attached to the neatest sheath that hugs the 2 1/2" scissors inside! SN 52 and 55 feature a 3-1/2" scissor, with larger finger holes for bigger hands! Petites w/ Enameled Sheath: The pretty shiny gold Petite scissors, with shiny steel blades are safely tucked into beautifully bright enameled sheaths, to wear around your neck! The 2 3/4 inch scissor "clicks" into the case, so they won't slip out if you bend over something for a minute. Perfect for lubricating the small screw on your fine embroidery scissors, it delivers about a twentieth of a drop of oil where ever you direct your squeeze! I guess they really ARE filled with German Precision Lubrication! Measuring approx 4 inches long, they will hold scissors that are larger than the regular 3-1/2 embroidery size.
